OMG rhythmic was ridiculous back then....she does element after element after element, not a second to breathe. And to think that it was still not enough....hm. So much better than Kabaeva and a million times harder than right now. Amazing job Tchachina!!!!!!!!!

RG federation (judges et cet) complained about Russians doing too much that they (judges) cant even judge so with time they lowered number of elements from 25 to 9. standard got lowered so competition can catch up.

I oftentimes think Irina would've been amazing with this new COP because of her speed and athleticism. SHe was always criticised for not having the same body difficulty as Kabaeva, if she was a gymnast in 2019 she would've been seriously competing with the twins.

@@janetpavlova3475 twins would be on trouble of they would compete against tchachina. She has with bessonova the best leaps, connected body elements are a huge thing with her, plus as you said she was athletic and had a quite good handling considering the era, with CoP 2019 Dina would have paled against Irina (for me tchachina one of the three best Russian gymnast ever with kanaeva and kudryavtseva)

@@janetpavlova3475 shtelbaums at her golden age didn't dissapointed at all for sure ! just sad especially for how many times unfairly tchachina was behind kabaeva, it was clear she wans't one of viner's favorite (i mean eve kanaeva and yana weren't but at least they weren't so disavantaged like irina)

If you look at the balance at 00:20 she completely falls from her releve. Big mistake. She also has execution problems in some of her other balances as well as in her final risk. Believe me, I am a huge fan of Tchachina, but with this routine and her ribbon routine she didn't deserve gold. Kabaeva was the best that night.
