Just found your you tube channel started watching and I'm hooked.. had to pause the video and start digging through my foot locker lock box and pulling out all my old drawing equipment and going thru what worked and what needed replaced. My wife had a look on her face like what is this why didn't I know you knew how to draw..lol.. now I'm fired up and just ordered a bunch of new equipment and started doing a bunch of pencil sketches while watching.. thank you for fanning the ember back into a flame.

GIVEAWAYS, EVS: people do giveaways a few ways, but the most fair way is a randomizer. You can have people like something, comment, then call each one a "number." go online, have a randomizer pick a number, that person is the winner. Unless its not me. Then they didn't win opr you used the wrong program.

If you haven't figured it out yet, Ethan recently closed down his Twitter account due to constant harassment and being called a Nazi repeatedly by a few bad actors online who want to get him fired. I can understand enough being enough, but I hope the time comes when Ethan can reopen his Twitter account if he wants to. Leave the content in real time, the viewer can speed up if they like or skip to parts they want to get to. I do like the explanation of the tools you use and why. I have been hesitant to try my hand at drawing again, I have fallen away years ago and recently have been getting the itch to put ink to paper. I was self taught and picked up tips from other artists here and there but made my own style and renderings. Now that my responsibilities as a father has diminished (they are grown and out of house) a void has been created in my life and I have again wondered if there is any talent left in this old body of mine.

I had forgotten until I started drawing again recently just how difficult it is to draw a straight line free hand. The straighter I try to draw the more my hand shakes. Ethan's had so much practice that he makes it look second nature. I have to retrain my hand how to move across a page without being tense!

I remember when Booster Gold was first on sale at the 7-11 Circle K that was where I bought comic's back in the day and loved the outfit and the way his story and back history sort of was that different thing than say Batman or Superman. Loved the issues with Superman trying to figure out how he had all this gadgetry that was from the Legion and other things that wasn't created or made by him. One of the stories that for me showed just how Kal-El yeah he was a boy scout but I always knew that Superman would ALWAYS do the right thing and with him at the time being the biggest and best it was so important for him to be in this new title. I loved it.

For a give away: something easy to control is always if the people have subscribed to you and let them comment something under the give away. You could draw the winner at random. There are several websites where you only have to insert the url of the video and they draw a winner at random for you :) Or let people comment something special and you choose a winner based on what answer you like the most.

I've seen some people on their giveaways ask a question about a previous video. For example you could ask another question related to one of your drawing episodes be it a technique or artistic term. This not only will get you more views on the previous video but reinforce what was learned due to repetition. Just remember to put a link to the previous video and then in your follow-up place the answer and the name of the winner. this will encourage people to return and keep watch for future giveaways. And to make it simpler on yourself you could have electronic giveaways such as a digital drawing or sketch that way you don't have to worry about mailing anyting.

Great video! I still have my lead holder from high school drafting class, it turns 30 years old this year. It holds my HB lead, I've been collecting them over the years and now I have one for each lead hardness that I use in pencil portraits. Now that I'm trying comics I'll have to buy another one for the blue lead. Kneaded gum erasers are another favorite tool also.

You know I watch these videos and often times find that my pencil trails off my paper and don't realize it until I look back down. I did complete a Venom and Thing head though and then did a Carnage head based on what I learned from the Venom video. Any chance for a Huntress video in the near future? Also finished reading the 1st volume of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps and really enjoyed it except for 2 minor things with the artwork, Rafa's hair on Soranik looks like something from the Jetsons (looks a little odd) and the number of abs seems to be inconsistent at times in his issues, but overall really like the artwork that both of the teams did.

Most people do giveaways by having their followers battle to the death, winner gets the prize. It's not the most effective way which is why they don't do them often, but the bloodshed pleases the dark gods, who are calmed into 1000 more years of sleep. Real answer: I don't have a real answer.
