As always, Adrian's selection of music for us to learn about in so many ways is just superb. Such eclectic taste that never fails to hit some of the most interesting, innovative, and cool pieces of music over the years, right up to the present. Fantastic!

I've been playing and singing this since the 80s, with many different lineups, but more like you'd imagine The Ramones playing the music! Just simple, fast, and distorted! 😁

Thanks. My Grandfather got his autograph for my Auntie at Dundee Caird Hall, Scotland whilst he also photographed Gene Vincent backstage and around wearing a Tam O’Shanter over his slicked hair. In Darryl Highams book, apparently a fight broke out at the gig (Eddie was support but I think played with Gene- who had taken to him.) Eddie was found sitting at the at side of the stage cradling his beloved Gretsch; looked up and said:’ I’m not into fighting man.’ Think he simplified his playing for rock. I had a UK tv documentary ‘Arena’ from 1980s with Duane Eddie tell that: he sitting with Eddie in the UK in a hotel whilst Eddie showed him something he wrote for Duane, who just said:’Eddie I couldn’t PLAY that.’ Yours Aye.

Fantastic choice! Can’t imagine liking rock n’ roll music and not knowing (or at least wanting to learn) this classic. Eddie wrote some catchy and clever stuff, and was just hugely influential.

I have the Gretsch Eddie Cochran signature model. It's pricey for sure, but an amazing guitar, whether one is a fan or not. Super light and resonate and the pickups are fantastic - rich, bright and snappy without being harsh.

Thats the gretsch i want, next to the cliff gallup duo jet, i managed to scrape a few pennies together an bought the electromatic 5120 .But spent shitloads modding it, only thing i havent changed is the tuners and the bigsby, managed to get a pair of original filtertrons too. Now she sounds like a gretsch should.

@@phil393 Oh Cliff Gallup mate! His riffs n lead breaks are brilliant! The mate with all the gear l wrote of, he tears into it.. Setzer, Cochrane, Gallup etc, he got a 59 Bassman reissue, sounds gd.. bastard does all the hybrid picking etc. I've been thinking about swapping the Broadtrons out for some Mojotone deArmond single coils that drop straight into the Electromatic (l like em a bit more than Filtertrons)... Did you swap urs out without much hassle, if not was it hard work & what did ya swap? There's a NZ bloke (Mr Glynns pickups).. played a 5120 with a set put in. (I've revved up an Epi 335, wiring was a nightmare!!). And the Japanese Duo Jets with TV Jones...ld have one if I cd afford one in a heartbeat mate!! Cheers for the reply mate... keep twangin!! Edit: Lucky fella getting a set of real FTs half ya luck! And, excuse the novel!!

@@baabaabaa-yp2jh fuck!!! I could talk to you all night mate,, as for doing the wiring on a 335 ,, nah,, ill pass on that😂😂, i travis pick, been doing it for years,, tell me bout the dearmonds, eddie had those in his guitar didnt he???, i swapped mine out relatively easy, i saw a video on you tube which they use narrow rubber tubing, so i went for that route,, just enough to drop n receive the pots to give me a bit more room to solder the wiring, honest i could talk this stuff till the cows come home.

@@phil393 Ha! I'm the same mate (obv!).... When rewiring looms etc ld use dental floss & wire hooks to feed the pots & wires to the correct spots... Then l saw Colin on Guitaristas using surgical tubes... bloody genius!! As for Cochrane using deArmonds... I'd say he wdve, he was a session muso for a lot of recordings before 57 (even though the PAF & Ray Butts humbuckers may have been getting tested by Les Paul & Chet Atkins)... If you ever get the chance give the Dynasonics a go, they're great for rockabilly, deep bass & twangy top end..bit like a p90 but a bit more scooped in the lower mids... Take gain like a champ too... That's not knocking FTs, great pickup, especially that throaty roar you can get from em.. you know it's a Gretsch straight away!! Speaking of, ld love an old Gretsch amp, but until l win lotto my Supro & this little handwired thing a mate built will have to do!! See..l was only gonna reply & went off tangent!! Hahahaha! Take care mate!!✌️

Adrian, first off thank you so much for doing this one! Whilst the Cochran version is great, tbh I always preferred the Vince Taylor version. Off topic, but 'Son of Rumble' would round out the Link Wray collection of tuts you've provided quite nicely. Thank you for all that you do, and what you do is extensive, very thorough, and tops in every way, can't thank you enough. ❤
