Fabulous Adrian, Syd was a unsung hero from 1960 70s such a great influence on so many who followed ie Julian cope - a seriously under rated artist and song writer wow what a belter for a Friday Adrian. What about something by Julian cope trampoline?

Wow. Worth it for the full performance alone, but fascinating to subsequently see how the song is constructed. My introduction to Syd Barrett's music was via The Shamen - despite being best remembered as purveyors of electronic dance music, they started life as a psychedelic rock band called Alone Again Or. Before the likes of "Ebeneezer Goode", they recorded a series of original psychedelic rock tracks and a few covers of Syd Barrett songs that were collected on a compilation album called "Strange Day's Dream".

Syd’s timing was quirky and his chord progression choices were also not always predictable which is what made his work great. His early Floyd work and the solo sessions were no different other than the early work had Norman Smith producing and the whole band involved. The solo stuff could have been just as produced and polished had they gone that direction. Baby Lemonade & Gigolo Aunt would have been pop single records for Floyd had Syd not fell off. Great work here as always.

Yeah, I don’t know how many times some guitarist says hey let’s play this Pink Floyd song. Money, or something off of the wall or whatever and then I say ok and play The Gnome or interstellar overdrive or something and they always say, wow what song is that? Pink Floyd I say as they look really confused.
