I voted for this amv twice at Zenkaikon and can’t even being to describe how devastated I was when you didn’t win. Saying I was completely blown away by this amv is an understatement. The editing you did starting at 3:44 is so beautiful and perfect it almost made me cry at the convention. Best Sakura Amv I have seen, omg (': it is amazing. I use Vegas to do videos and I stay away from Masking because it is so annoying (at least for me) although I do love how it looks but it requires patience especially if it is for a moving clip..but the way you did it omg looks flawless, there was a lot of effort put into this and boy did it pay off! came out beautiful (: I was not bored at any moment, favorited it

I've always wanted to ask, is it the famous "magic cutter" (or something) tool that you used in this amv? When elements of different scenes are mixed together? It's beautifully done :) is it hard to use/do? (wait... I just did a Google search... is it what's called "rotoscoping"?)

I used a mix of chroma keyer and masking. I mainly did masking though. For me personally I have trouble using it, hence why I try not to incorporate in my amvs often. Rotoscoping is completely different. But yes I basically used Masking. Before you mask anything though make sure you have all your video sources de-interlaced. it will make things so much easier.

oh, right now, just WMM and cyberlink - which does have masks, actually, but they're pre-defined masks, like star shapes, or square shapes. You can't customize them or mask around a specific object in the clip, that is, unless the specific object is a heart or a star, lol. Too bad there's no woody card shape mask XD it's interesting, though, I didn't know you could use after effect files in Vegas...
