Anytone AT-6666 Programming software and USB programming cable

The USB port on the back of the radio is not a real USB port. Its actually a serial port using a USB plug. The software is very basic but allow to control allot of stuff. I would much rather program from PC the anytone menu system. Cable should be plug and play with windows 10. Windows 7 system might need a driver. You can download the software below.

Band D is the CB frequency band with all the cb channels already programmed in.

The skipped frequencies are because they are used for radio controlled frequencies. Early phase looked loops had limitations that disallowed the use of the skipped frequencies for that band segment. They were made into RC frequencies so as not to waste the skipped frequencies. The seemingly scrambled frequencies are because they were adapted into CB in a rather messed up order from another radio service when the CB band went from 23 channels to 40 channels.

There are different frequencies in the 'bands' (that are actually memory slots). Check first if the frequencies you want to input are already there, in some other band than 'A'. The groups feature is used to create separate teams of freqs. In combination with CTCSS and DCS you can create groups that communicate in the same 'channels' without interfering with each other.

Some frequencies are skipped on the CB channels because they were used for the old 27MHz Remote Control 'crystal' frequencies for remote control cars etc. Not really used anymore but the CB frequencies have kept the channel list.

they're know as the "Alpha" If the radio is full freq, 3A etc. should come up

I programmed 5 or the 6 memory channels for 3a, 7a, 11a, 15a, and 19a. But as this radio is designed for an electret element, seems you can't use say a handheld power mike with good results. Heard some of the Lincolns allow you to switch between condenser types. Anyone have success putting say a D104 power hand mike on this radio?

If you select a "channel" and then switch to frequency mode and change the frequency, you are effectively changing the frequency of the "channel" and the new frequency that you changed to is saved to that channel slot. Kind of annoying if you ask me, but that's how this radio operates. The frequencies were out of order on your radio were set that way because you were on those channels when you switched to frequency mode and changed the frequency with the vfo knob.

I just got my anytone 6666. Can I pick someone’s brain regarding the programming. I have the software downloaded. Now I’m on the screen where the frequency channels are. Do I have to manually input all the channels?

The "CB" in the US is BAND D. Be in channel mode not Freq mode and you will be all good. AM/USB/LSB contacts across the board. FM in Band E Might land you some UK contacts never know.

You don’t use a computer to cut on SWR protection. It’s in your menu.

You can use the computer software. You can also do it when powered on by entering the one of the hidden menu modes. You can enter 1 of the hidden menus by holding in the channel selector button until the menu appears an to enter the second hidden menu you hold in the menu button to enter the 2nd hidden menu. @@vsmichael1​

Where can I go to download the software? I went to the manufacturers website, downloaded the software but upon trying to install the software it wanted to also install / modify Microsoft Office 2010. I'm not sure why it was attempting to modify or install my copy of Microsoft Office 2010, something just doesn't feel right about the software. Yes, it is. By holding in the channel selector gets to 1 of the hidden menus and holding in the menu button enters the second hidden menu.

The Anytone AT-6666 is the same as the Stryker as it uses the same pc board used in the Stryker SR-955.

Look for 23 channel cb band + 27MHZ RC channels ch, 3 7 11 15 19 + 10 hz. IE ch 19 27.185 RC channel 27.195

exactly what I was thinking. I really dislike seeing someone post a "how to" video when they truly don't know what they are doing or how to properly do what they are proposing. All this fella had to do was a little more googling and he would have found the easy way to enable CB band and he also would have learned that Band D is the United States CB frequencies when CB mode is enabled.

Look @ frequency list for channels 1-40. They all don’t jump 10 kHz every click. This is why you need a 10 k switch.
