Yami Marik beat the main villain (bakura) and the main hero (Atem) in duels, atem literally lost in the anime he had no cards left in the manga all Marik had to do was say "turn end" and he would have won. Even when Regular Marik was controlling Joey then yugi/atem's lifepoints dropped to zero.

Not only is she not a fighter like say Joey or Tristan, but she also lacks just any physical strength compared to them as well... Then again, she's a not a duelist so it KIND OF works...
