I'm glad you did this as it's something I will now look for. I found them to be great BCGs for around the $60-$70 range. My earliest one has around 1500 rounds on it. From what I've seen, AO lives up to their 'Mil-Spec' claim. Excellent dimensions but they don't spend much time on a fine finish. This video just confirms it. I usually stick with Toolcraft. A great option is the 'RTB' polished nitride BCG(Toolcraft carrier with AO bolt). High quality hardware with the smoothest carrier finish I've ever seen, and reasonably priced. It would be nice to see a similar video for one of theirs.

It's clear that you're motivated to figure out if this BCG is legit for your own build, this was the fastest of all the BCG physicals I've ever seen on here, you were moving extra quick like you just wanted to get it over with, which I can totally understand. It just seems like it's not going to be as valuable to viewers as the physicals/autopsies of 3rd party BCGs where you take your time and explain more about the what/why of examining the components. As a layman, why does the cam pin need to be installed the same direct every time?
@kanaka1184463 жыл бұрын
There's a hole in the middle of it where the firing pin fits in. The direction of that hole is perpendicular to the longways portion of the cam pin head. Put the cam pin in longways, turn it 90° so the firing pin can fit
@kanaka1184463 жыл бұрын
It's been one month since I made that last comment and I'm only now realizing I only explained how the cam pin functions in the rifle, did not explain why it should be installed the same direction every time. I apologize for that mistake, I must have been absent minded that night. The reason it should be installed the same way every single time is to decrease wear on the cam pin. When only one side wears it keeps the same wear pattern on the cam pin and on the upper receiver. Then it is installed both ways randomly, you could wind up with a sloppy lock up on your cam pin with enough cycling of the action I hope this explains it well enough. Sorry again that I didn't do a good job with my first comment.

Okay, I'll bite ... whenever you check headspacing, you seem to do so with the ejector pin and extractor still in place on the bolt whereas in virtually every other video I've seen from others, said components are always removed presumably to prevent them from causing false headspace fails. What are you doing that the other video makers aren't that makes leaving the ejector at the very least, A Good Idea? Also, if I understood you correctly, whenever you remove the ejector, you replace the ejector pin with a new pin. Am I understanding this correctly?

All JP rings will fail, they're purposely undersized and the contact surface is polished, no issues with mine in 308 rigs. There's a video of Pat Rogers on YT explaining that the most carbines/mids will work with no gas rings installed.

Looks like it had one small issue and not as nice as the Geissele components. Compared to the Geissele REBCG BCG it doesn’t look as promising, then again it’s half the cost.
