We need a new definitive tennis game. This one has some very good things: the sound, the realism in the hitting mechanics (i felt very much like in real tennis, where i can lose each time i don't hit it at exact right moment), the balls physics and some more immersive details. But what it's lacking is movement, as well as animations. There's a lot of times where you should be capable of reaching a ball, or you even press the hit early, waiting for the ball, but your character just keeps standing, watching the ball go (like in 4:50). You cannot hit balls that are a little far away, or a little risky. And when it is a short/drop ball is even worst. It's like your character doesn't detect the distance or the ball correctly. This makes the game feel a lot less responsive. Like if you don't really have the control of the characters, at times. Top Spin does this very well. It has great animations and a lot of versatility when you have to reach the ball. You can hit it in movement, running forward to the net or even going backwards. It would be awesome if there's a tennis game that could unite the best of this two games. The physics and hitting mechanics of AO Tennis 2, and the movement and animations from Top Spin 4.

If you consider unrealistic physics, game play speed and terrible players shoots animations, you could say yes...but as we see on the comments, most of people think it's garbage...so I'm sure I'm not crazy, and as a tenis player im saying you are gay and wrong

I think this game is decent! It's lacking a bit in the quality of textures but it has great modding, character customization, a decent career mode and believable physics. I would give it 7/10 its not for everybody but it is not a bad game at all!

Vt4 has better graphics, animation but looks more arcade, while AO Tennis is more on the simulation side in terms of gameplay.

The few similarities are in the movement and shot aiming. It doesn't necessarily have the timing meter in rookie difficulty. Whereas in amateur and up it will have the shot and serve meter. In my opinion this is slightly better than Top Spin 4

The game is not as good as top spin 4 however you should play better mate. Too many times you hit everything half volley inside the court and yet you never utilise inside out forehand which is the part of Rafa's best weapon.

@@sucia1984 I played it like two weeks ago. Well, it's okay, but the times of Top Spin 4 are still sorely missed. There should be a new serious iteration of a tennis video game. One with many players, top notch visuals (Frostbite engine), deep career mode and realistic physics with fluent intuitive controls. This is possible to make.
