yes there are a few dangers from marine life such as jellyfish & coral snakes that you should familiarize yourself with before hand... google searches can help with this

Hi Tony, great video - we are coming over to Ao Yon in 10 days for Christmas and have a beach hut near where you filmed (we think!) so it was great to see some of the area. Can you recommend any good island trips? James & Gillian

Hi and thank you for taking the time to comment I’m sure you will love the Ao Yon area, there are a lot of island tours to consider and many of them are very good.... Ko Racha is very nice , similan islands are very beautiful, of course you have phi phi which is well known further south you have ko Lipe very beautiful indeed To be honest in Thailand especially around Phuket you really are spoilt for choice and it really comes down to what you personally like and weather your looking at just day trips or longer stays there are a few island which are currently closed to tourism at the moment due to over tourism as far as I’m aware maya bay is currently closed and there are also a few island that now have a tourist limit per day so it’s worth checking I will be starting to cover the island around Phuket in the coming months however there are so many it is going to take quite sometime to cover them all

At approximately 15:00 on the video where you were hiking up a trail to see a waterfall, 700 meters can be a long way if the trail is difficult and treacherous as the way the trail looks in the video. If you are short on time, it is a good idea to forgo the hike. If a trail becomes too difficult, I am not the least afraid to turn back and I had to do it on some trails recently. Also if there are signs telling not to go off the trail, I often will disobey the signs telling you to do so but that depends on the area. In some places, there are situations where you would definitely want to stay on the trail such as steep hillsides, poisonous plants such as poison ivy, and unbushwackable forests such as mangrove swamps and dense jungles. The forest where you were hiking more than likely to me is unbushwackable because I ran into them before. Also the stream where you are you got to be careful about hiking in an area like that when there is a possibility of heavy showers and thunderstorms resulting in flash flooding as streams like that can be too dangerous to cross. Heavy showers can be very localized and some areas upstream can get a heavy rain and where you are none. There are some trails that you would not want to walk in flip-flops. Maybe they are all right for the beach or a sidewalk but not for trails with slippery mud and rocks. You shouldn’t be afraid to get regular shoes wet even though it is not a customary thing to do. I wade in the water with regular she’s all the time. There are some situations where behooves you to go against the traditions of society. I would not want to walk on an oyster bed or places where there is a a lot of glass for example unless I had a really good decent pair of shoes. You mentioned about the humidity. I have seen some places where the humidity was so oppressive you can be in your wet clothes and still be sweating.
