But they do get hired to write music for the specific film in the specified time frame, and they create that music day in and day out for the studio that ordered the film to be made. That makes it daily job for them, albeit not a classic office 9 to 5 job. What I meant is, they are able to create masterpieces from what is essentially an order for a service.

When my daughter’s father was dying this song literally carried me thru it. Somehow I’d forgotten all about this song til now. I don’t know how either because it literally carried me thru. I felt like I was drowning, my world turned inside out. The storm that led up to his passing. Knowing every day for almost a year straight that one of these days I was going to get “the call” Dreading it. A golden glow permeated his room when that call finally came. Like flickers of light in my peripheral. Light thru water. Doing my best to honor a promise I made. Then going home and looking at our daughter, too young to understand what had happened, looking back at me with his eyes. Shook rn.

The scene in the movie that this piece coincides with adds to the weight of the music. It is 100% impossible for me to hold back my tears when I hear this music. I wonder if pieces like this would have the same effect without their counterparts on film. No composer has had that effect on me as much as John Barry - the greatest film scorer of the 20th century. He was the pioneer of setting moods in movies with music. Han Zimmer easily carries the mantle into the 21st century. There are several honorable mentions among their ranks: Horner, Morricone, Goldsmith... I digress. Bottom line for this piece. HZ knocked his 62nd homer out of the park with his Knights of the Holy Grail (Chevaliers De Sangreal). Pure waterworks for this music. One of the greatest 4-minute treasures ever conceived. Cheers.

@@ofdrumsandchords I left a positive comment. Why would you say it's ridiculous?!
@ofdrumsandchords Жыл бұрын
@@jwozniak1 "One of the greatest compositions ever" ? Ever heard of Bach, Brahms, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, Gershwin, Schoenberg, Messiaen, Xenakis, *, Pat Metheny ? *and many others who contributed to build the contemporary musical language. Nothing wrong with liking Hans Zimmer, but he's absolutely not on the level.
@golcanmusicfan2903 Жыл бұрын
@@ofdrumsandchords Music doesn't need complexity to be effective. Zimmer creates music that is effective, his music triggers a lot of emotions, and it doesn't matter if it is the most complex music in the world. In fact, only geniuses create great effective music with less theoric complexity.

I've have listened to this countless times. I've been wanting to comment for a while but I'm just speechless everytime 😮😮😮. The crescendo in this masterpiece is just beautiful and amazing. How does a person bring this out of their brain and allow us to hear their creation just like they hear it, is mind blowing to me. Anyone who says this is garbage most likely is disturbed in the head.
@richardromero9982 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I feel like the violin is telling it’s story to the cello and it’s consoling her and as it comes to crescendo. Just amazing!!!!! As to someone being sick in the head for not feeling the same…. Well…..😅 I don’t see it that way. Live and let live. Let’s focus on the good and understand we are all different 😊
