Why did add archers instead of Just siphai and spears?

Ottoman archers with the mehter buff are great, I also expect my opponent to add spearmen at some point

Poor diamond 1 player, getting matched against a top 5ish player. You can see at around 11:35 that he's mentally checked out a bit because those forward villagers are just forgotten about.
