I can't help but feel that, with some of these new civs/techs of late expansions and DE, they were testing the ground for new features of AOE4 (for more than one civ). Like dismounted cavalry, smaller castles, feitorias, houses that garrison, upgraded docks that fire arrows... none of these feel like they only belong to one civilization in the world. By the by, I'd love to see Polinesian/Papuan/Maori civilizations in AoE2 or AoE4.

Viper is in so many tournaments at the moment I'm not even sure how many. Is it now "just" 2 finals and a semi-final? Credit to Lan for being classy enough to resign. I also felt that the Vikings had ran out of steam and Mongols had reached their terrifying point where they feel untouchable. I actually thought Lan played pretty well, and this was a more competitive series than I expected, but it's hard to step on a snek.

you need a compressor for your mic. You cant increase the gain anymore but compression will help bring up the volume without causing any clipping

It could be funny a regicide mod where castles are not allowed, so we begin with a tower instead. The problème is for uniq units and trébuchet (and bomber man) and uniqs techs but they could creat a New Building who do the same things than a castle but without arrows and where units can't hide. (It will be costless than a castle of cours)

Why do often float 1.5 / 2k stone in late game? I get not using all of it for castles because you might want to keep some for repairs in treb wars. But couldn't an extra castle or two help solidify control eg over those extra gold piles out on the left? Or do you keep extra stone for repairs / to sell for emergency gold?

Castles are used to secure areas and hills, and sometimes you might not have control over an area where you should place a castle, and as long as you aren't in danger of dying you you might benefit from waiting to place it.

To answer the question about flaming camels once and for all: They deal 20 melee damage, which gets reduced by armor They deal +50 to cavalry (including elephants and cav archers) They deal another +50 to camels They deal another +100 to elephants So in total it's 20 melee damage reduced by armor +150 bonus damage against any elephant unit The reason the wiki says ~125 damage is because it's an explosion and the camels are almost never exactly on top of the elephants, the closer they are the more damage they deal

The cavalry bonus and elephant bonus do not stack if it is either the one or the other. Halbs have 32 bonus against cavalry and 60 against elephants but they don't do 92 bonus damage they do 60 EDIT: so no you are wrong. It is actually 120 since explosions and bonus damage both ignore armor. I just tested it in editor

@@ubbisoft they do stack, learn how the game works before trying to correct others. AoE damage is based on armor classes, every unit has some, often multipleand damage instances can deal multiple types of damage, affecting multiple armor classes. Neither explosions, nor bonus damage ignore armor. 20 + 50 + 100 = 170 and since camels don't stand directly on top of elephants upon explosion, the damage is reduced and ends up ~120. Go explode the camel vs elite teutonic knight and tell us if it did 20 damage. Spoiler: it won't.

@@Progeusz What I meant by "don't stack is obviously" the values in the wiki. I know how the armor classes work but the +100 against elephants in wiki is already accumulated damage over both armor classes. Same as the halbs +60. And yes bonus damage ignores armor. Just check SoTL video on that. The calculation goes: base damage - armor + bonus damage. If base damage - armor is smaller than 0 it automatically does one damage. The bonus damage is added afterwards, thus it is not affected by armor.

game 2 kinda shows you how absurd archers are. Huscarls, the ultimate anti archer unit, doesn't force viper into a counter unit, and he kills them in even numbers. Is this not a red flag to anyone?

War elephants have both cavalry armor and war elephant armor so yes the bonuses do stack, same as with halleberdiers who do +32 +28 = +60

@Björn Urban it has to do with armor class because that's how the different bonus damages are coded. They ignore normal armor specifically because they are dealt against the special armor classes. If you don't know how it works, don't argue about it like it's obvious and if you don't believe it, just test it in the editor. A halberdier does 65 damage againt a battle elephant (6-1)+32+28 And a flaming does ~124 so more than simply (20-1)+100 but less than (20-1)+100 +50 because of blast damage (the ele is never on top of the camel were damage is maximum)
