Aoleang Festival Celebration at Tangyu Village, Mon, Nagaland | Konyak Nagas in the Land of Angh

Aoleang festival of the Konyak Nagas is celebrated during the first week of April every year. The video here is a vlog of the celebration at #Tangyu Village on April 02, 2022.Known for their prowess in headhunting, the Konyaks are among the fiercest of headhunters until Christianity led them to abandon the age-old tradition.
Tangyu Village, about 16 kms away from Mon Town, is one of the oldest and largest village in Mon district of Nagaland. It is still home to a few tattooed headhunters although they do not practice the tradition anymore after they embraced Christianity over 55 years ago.
