Aonijie Withwind 5L Hydration Vest Review (after long-term testing!)

The Aonijie Withwind 5L hydration vest is a great budget option for trail runners. Running packs and hydration equipment can be very expensive, but happily this budget option performs very well over an extended period of time.

They must have changed the model design because the one i borrowed and subsequently bought my own has a series of bungies across the front rather than two straps (would prefer the straps :-(. Which aren't on a sliding rail.) No magnet (could you glue another magnet to the original?) No phone pocket ... There's a different zipped pocket further over but it's smaller. Just saying so people can look closely before they buy. I found it the most comfy pack and couldn't wait to buy my own.

Thanks, that's really interesting information! Glad to see that they have changed the design for the better. They do also make other hydration vests (like the Windrunner and the Moderate Gale). I haven't tried those ones out, but based on my experience with this pack I'd be interested in trying them out too.

I've had mine for almost a year, the only problem I've had is the zip gets quite sticky sometimes. I've been told by the local rep that its pronounced AYO (like mayo) KNEE JEE (like the letter G)

Ah, thanks for the pronunciation guide! My zip has held up quite well, but I have had several other zips on other equipment get 'sticky' as you described (particularly on clothing that gets sweat on it). I find that washing them or sponging them down with water, then drying them and then lubricating them with graphite works really well.

The osprey magnetic ones works great, i do xc riding with it, never drops.
