We seriously need a system in which there is not endless quantities of people pouring into the country, and this, if you have any concerns with regards to the issues regarding mass immigration, then suddenly you're far right, when statistics from other countries have clearly shown problems, and recognising this, does not make you far right. It's a 1,2, skip a few, 99,100 style thinking. No nuance. But seriously, the rate of immigration needs to come down seriously, and it has nothing to do with skin colour, although, certain ideologies, and values, do need serious questioning, and not another phobia to block the way of discussion. Sam Harris' latest podcast, regarding the Trump win, outlines some things we definitely need to take into account here, or tbh, we will actually end up with a far right populous vote, due to the number of issues our politicians, (and the dems in the US lost) are not only ignoring, but welcoming. It's how Harris lost, and how we'll put ourselves in danger in the future. But, the idiocy will prevail imo.

Entirely fair and common sensical. WRT local planning, if criteria are established for assessing capacity within a local community as to housing, education, healthcare, employment etc then there should be no lengthy delays. Either a community meets them all or they do not. It would be incumbent on the government to make up for an shortfalls identified - more schools, extra GPs, more housing before any qualified immigrant applicants are brought in. There also ought to be limits on the numbers of people relative to the size of the local community.

The majority of migrants are actually coming from the EU and not overseas. Focusing solely on the non-EU migrants will never solve the problem. @@pauldavid6179 I agree with you on that but we also have to acknowledge that immigration can therefore not be solved then. Even stopping issuing visas to non-EU citizens won't be enough. The problem, in my opinion, is the lack of vision by our political leaders when it comes to immigration. No one will say that there are sectors in our economy that badly need immigrants to function properly. In Italy, Georgia Meloni claimed to solve the immigration only to find out that it is not as easy as it seems. Populism isn't the solution and no one has the balls to admit it unfortunately.

@jackbarber2697 numbers of EU migrants are way down from the 00s. The fact that the state is looking to issue more visas to non-EU migrants to fill job vacancies is telling.
