@MissLeafi3 жыл бұрын
To be fair, he isn't exactly overconfident. It's just that when all the realms send their armies to stop you from doing your gigantic ritual it's going to be a do or die (heh!) situation even if there are some sneaky ratmen sabotaging you again. The video did a pretty bad job at describing the scale, circumstances and aftermath of that event to be honest. Also while his ritual didn't work quite as intended it did strengthen him a good deal, even gave him a whole new army and Mortarch, so it wasn't even really a failure at the end of the day. He became a god after the old world blew up for a reason. He IS extremely capable and powerful (even back then when he wasn't yet a god he killed other gods). He's on the same level as all the other new gods. He's just not good at making friends, but then again he's powerful enough to have a whole faction under his thumb while Order and Chaos is split between multiple gods.

I know some people are upset at losing the old world which I felt delivered a more dark but somewhat grounded fantasy setting. Sure there are mages and magic but it's incredibly rare and insanely dangerous. Yes there are vampires and werewolves but mostly in their respective regions. Miracles from faith are rare and genuine miracles. It was nice. But AoS I feel does try to do something a bit different. Many games like to hint at a golden age long past, whether it's dark souls or destiny. AoS went big and is trying to actually MAKE that world, that golden age of gods, magic and titanic struggles between colossal entities that are practically forces of nature. It's not a bad angle.

The “Age of myth” in this context is not the Old World. Rather, it’s a time of unprecedented prosperity and growth in the mortal realms; after the old world, but before chaos enters the narrative in force. I hope that helps, sorry for the ambiguity:)

I believe it's inferred he doesn't remember anything. Really only the other gods seemed to remember, though perhaps not alarielle. They absolutely had to spend a lot of time remembering what they were about, so chaos popping up was probably something they didn't think, or forgot, would happen so suddenly after all this time.

I suspect most of the gods don't have clear memories of the Old World either - in Josh Reynold's books it often says how Nagash has, at best, fragmented memories of his past.

Did Vermintide happen at the end of the age of chaos?

Isn't realmstone essentially warpstone?
@2Tough4 жыл бұрын
functionally, yes. Whats important to note is that it is themed for the realms and so they act and react differently from warpstone. But honestly, they often fill the same role in any narrative (boosting magic, making weapons, power sources etc.)

Hi, I just heard about your channel from Adeptus Podcastus and decided to check it out. Enjoying your style of explaining the lore.

As some one returning to the hobby, last time I played my army consisted of blocks and everything was set in the old world. When does age of Sigmar happen in to comparison to the old world then? Or is it set in another timeline kinda like blood bowl?

Welcome! So AOS is set several hundreds years after the events of the Old world. With that gap of time, the writers also expanded the style of fantasy, going form tolkien-ish to more of a heroic fantasy style :)

2+Tough hummm ok, I’ve been watching some of your videos on lore to try and catch myself up. Just finished the end of time video. I’ve got so many questions about characters and lore but you will most likely cover it all in your videos so I will carry on watching them all. 😊
