One of the nice destinations to visit in Japan. Maybe better than other famous big cities like Tokyo and Kyoto that are much crowded with tourists and expensive.

Thank you for this beautiful video of Hita. We will be heading there in Oct and we are beyond excited to explore around the little town. It's so beautiful and looks peaceful. I know your boyfriend is Japanese but how was the language barrier while walking around in Hita?

Because it is countryside there are more elderly people. So if you go to the small shop's with traditional good's you will mostly see friendly old ladies working there. They usually can't speak english but pointing on thing's that you like or some essential Japanese phrases like "kore o kudasai" (これをください-this one please) will help you in these situations out. The unagi restaurant had only japanese menu but the people there where younger so maybe they could also speak a little bit english. In the aot museum are quite often foreign visitors - we also saw a few there. English should be no problem there. In the countryside people are also even more friendly to visitors and more patient than in the city. They will great you on the street and wish you a nice day and even if they can't speak english they will try as much as they can to help you out. Wish you a nice trip in Hita 😊
