Even though he was surrounded by people who demonized Eldians, Magath actually actively worked with them, trained them, taught them and commanded the best Eldians in Marley. I assume he realizes that after years of training Eldians, it isn't any different than training and working with other Marleyans. He knows Eldians are just as human as anyone else, with flaws and strengths. He just had to act "racist" in front of other Marleyan commanders to earn their respect too.

Their race is Subjects of Ymir. Eldia isn't a race...just the name of an old nation. Falco and Colt are Marleyan Subjects of Ymir, while the Paradisians are Eldians Subjects of Ymir. The tribe of Eldia lost its origins from all the forced interbreeding. Eldians are those who belong to the nation of Eldia, while Marleyans belong to the nation of Marley. The old government of Paradis following Reiss weren't Subjects of Ymir, but still Eldians. Same for Falco and the others, they're Marleyans. It's just that due to discrimination, their own fellow citizens refuse to claim them, when they want to be part of their own country. Even Magath in the manga towards the last chapters refers to his group of Warriors as Marleyans. Also, in the community, as well as the official wiki, when talking about both main fighting parties they describe the Paradis ones as Eldians and the others as Marleyans. That and how also in Paradis all Eldians of Marley are simply referred as Marleyans by its people.
