Great Session. Just have a question! What if the atmospheric storage tank is an openly vented system and can have Air also going IN and OUT based on in-breathing and out-breathing conditions. On that case, how can we estimate the vented gas composition from tank? Thanks.

When the system is set to vent to the atmosphere, the volume of air entering and leaving the system will be dependent on the breather vent and vacuum pressures. However, the EPA’s AP 42 documentation does not require the components in the air to be reported with the emissions. Using the ProMax Tank Losses Stencil, you can input all of the required information about your tank battery, including the breather vent and vacuum pressure settings. ProMax will then use AP 42 equations to calculate the working and breathing emissions for the system as demonstrated in the video.
