I can't believe some of you are criticizing how she might pronounces things. So pretentious... these are wonderful lectures and she does a great job catering them to a high school audience.

Pronunciation isn't irrelevant for experts and teachers. Also, implying you've had the privilege to see David where he's never been is pretentious.

Hello! First thank you so much for your content on AP art history! Just one question I can’t find any video regarding the northern renaissance. Is there any video regarding that chapter?

@@FleetsAPArtHistory Michelangelo's David is at Accademia museum, the courtyard shown is from the Palazzo Medici and not from the palazzo Rucellai and three feathers in the ring is the symbol of Cosimo de Medici (two feathers - Piero, three rings - Lorenzo). Two families were in great relationship, they also celebrated the marriage of Bernardo Rucellai and Nannina de Medici. Anyway I ve enjoyed it and learnt some new aspects

@@FleetsAPArtHistory Around the 20 minute mark you say that the god who was castrated was Janus, but it should be Uranus.

The Medici didn't have "all the money". They were the most powerful, but there were other powerful families. I'm often hesitant to accept someone's expertise on the subject matter, when they don't know the proper pronunciation of a name as important as i medici. The accent is on the "med" not the "dici".

"I'm oftentimes hesitant to accept someone's expertise"? Ma'am or Sir, I'm just an overworked, underpaid high school teacher here trying my best to communicate 50,000+ years of global art history in a 9 month course: I'm not an 'expert' on any of the dozens of content areas in the AP curriculum, and I'm just trying to get my students through the AP test without their heads exploding. Whether or not I can pronounce Medici correctly is not going to negatively impact my students' AP scores or their understanding of Italy during the Early Renaissance period, and surely high schoolers are smart enough to glean that they don't have literally "all the money" when I teach artworks like the Pallazo Rucellai and the Pazzi Chapel in the same unit, neither of which were commissioned by the Medicis. If you want a comprehensive, detailed review of Early Renaissance Italy, I'm sure you can find at least a hundred professors out there in the world who have devoted their entire lives to the subject who are happy to get into the weeds with you. There's no need to be rude

If you're going to insult me and accuse me of not being able to speak maturely or competently about a subject I'm licensed to teach by the state of California, then you can at the very least make your comment decipherable. Like, did you not finish elementary school, or do you just not think or proofread before you post something asinine and insulting behind the veil of Internet anonymity? Shut the hell up.

bro if u didn't like the video just click on something else and as u said in ur comment " Narrator speaks like immature young person forming opinion on art" u sound like an immature young person forming an opinion on a video that you could've easily clicked off of but instead decided to make a hate comment. Not only did u make an unnecessary comment here, but you also wrote it like u never learned proper English so here let me fix it for ya: "Narrator speaks like 'an' immature young person forming 'an' opinion on art 'she' has never seen. Terrible, turn 'off the' audio, it is 'more' tolerable." 💀💀🤡

Lippi liked women. I like the video. Early Renaissance was much more than what you teach. I visited many of the sites. There were more artists not mentioned in Vasari’s “Life of the Artist “ in short because he focused on the artists who he admired. Most art teachers only get the good… The so called Renaissance was literally bloody. 90%of the people could not read. That’s one reason for religious imagery. Knowledge was paramount not, art in early Renaissance.
