In this video I do a speed run through the 2012 AP Calculus BC Practice Exam. I go through 28 multiple choice questions (no calculator) outlining strategies for all of the major topics that show up on the AP Calculus BC exam.
I do no own the rights to the AP Calculus BC Practice Exam. This practice exam was released by college board to the public, so I put together this ad free video to help students prepare for the AP Calculus BC exam.

For question 22, I propose an easier method of approach. Since it is a power series, by its definition we can determine the center of convergence (c=3), and since we know the series converges at x=5, the radius of convergence must be at least 2. So then our confirmed interval of convergence would be (1,5). Since we don’t have enough information the test the the endpoint at x =1, we don’t know if it diverges or converges, so B C are not correct answers. X=0 and x=6 are both outside our confirmed interval of convergence, thus leaving only x=2 (D) as the only option. We know this answer is correct because it falls in our confirmed interval of convergence.

26:03 how does a negative area under the curve indicate that there is a negative value of f(6)? We don’t know what f(0) is, so we can’t tell whether or not the loss of -6 resulted in a negative value or not?

I'm confused about question 13. How do you know it is centered at 4 and the inequality means that the radius of convergence means it is sqrt3? I tried doing ratio test and am now confused. Please help! thank you!!!

Is there an easier method for 26 because that seems like way to effort for a MC question that you have 2 minutes to solve

If you memorize the formula, you can get right into it. I try to show a lot of questions in a way that you don't need to have everything memorized. Think of the two minutes as the average time. There will be plenty of easy questions that you can answer in under 30 seconds, that puts more time in the bank for you to think about the harder questions. Good luck tomorrow!

Those are the series expansions of maclaurin series. This is the “unexpanded” part, i think. I barely understood this unit😭, but i hope this made sense

The formula involving the nth derivative and factorials is when you have to build the Maclaurin Series yourself. In that question they were polite and wrote the series for us. The big idea for question 5 was evaluating a geometric series.

Hey man great video. I understood every part except the polar areas. Do I need to be worried about those questions cuz let me be honest, I don't know a single thing about polar areas cuz I never learned it. I hope they don't have a big influence on the test.

Unit 9 (parametric/polar) makes up 10-11% of the exam. I think of polar area as area formed by a windshield wiper, the two angles theta1 and theta2 tells you where the windshield wiper starts and stops. There is plenty of time to get good at unit 9. Really think about what it means to plot points in polar, that will make it easier to find polar area.

Wouldn't #9 (sum of n!/n^100) converge? If n = 200, then 200! < 200*100 and because the denominator is bigger, the series should converge right?

Although the denominator is bigger for n = 200, as n approaches infinity, n factorial will become larger. The rate of growth for n factorial surpasses any constant a value n^a for sufficiently large values of n. the only value that n can be raised to in order to surpass n factorial is n (the rate of growth for n^n surpasses n factorial).
