The 2023 Juno Awards took place at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta on March 13. Hosted by Simu Liu, it included performances by Tate McCrae, AP Dhillon, Tenille Townes, Alexisonfire, Aysanabee, Banx & Ranx, Preston Pablo, Rêve, Jessie Reyez, a special hip-hop tribute featuring Kardinal Offishall, Haviah Mighty, Michie Mee, Mel Boogie, Dream Warriors, Tobi, as well as a performance from Hall of Fame inductees Nickelback.

I feel like this live performance was really controlled to fit the western sense and understanding of music. You can tell AP's heart wasn't in it. He was doing it out of obligation. You can tell why he wasn't feeling this performance because as a fan you know how his songs feel when he is in his element and is actually making "AP Dhilon" genre music. America really restricted his talent there and made his music fit in their little box. As a result this performance failed to capture the authenticity of his music. AP is much bigger than this and something like a Juno Award doesn't do justice to the pedigree his music holds. They don't deserve him.
