Babyface was on the Red Carpet of the 2025 Grammy's and was being interviewed and asked about Black women in R&B and wasn't given enough time to answer the question before he was interrupted to get an interview with Chappell Roan.

Literally gave Madonna one of her last Billboard Hot 100 number one hits, Take a Bow, which is my favorite Madonna song. His vocals are even on the song. It was her last number one hit in the 90s. She only had one last number one hit after that in 2000 with Music.

Not only Babyface is a grammy winning genius, he reformatted the R&B sound that every yt artist out is benefiting off now. He's basically the father of contemporary R&B. He even did Ariana's first album, he's STILL relevant. So the disrespect is VERY REAL.

This man is the mastermind behind so many movie soundtracks and don't get me started on the HIT singles he wrote for LEGENDS in the industry from Bobby Brown...Toni Braxton...Whitney Houston...Boyz II Men... The man has 13 Grammys! Let's not even count all of the songs HE wrote for other artists that were either Grammy nominated or Grammy winning tunes! It's just insane! That was a nice catch with the hand taps. He might be more responsible. Some people don’t know how to respond in anxious moments. They at least tried to apologize (even though it wasn’t great). Looks like he escaped accountability. Babyface is a music legend with quite the catalog and I enjoy Chappell Roan’s music. Both of them deserved their moments and respect in that moment.

I researched Babyface a couple of months ago because I was listening to Toni Braxton and it is crazy how revolutionary and innovative he was and to see his influence in korean pop music and french music and ALL over the planet is astonishing. This aint nothing new, I remember Donnie Mcclurkin won a couple of grammys for the gospel category and he went to get interviewed and all of the interviewers turned him away and said smugly we don't do gospel and shunned him. The same reporters saw Beyonce and quickly ran to her with mics in her face and she rejected all of them. She put her arms around Pastor Mcclurkin, told them you dont do gospel, and walked off with Donnie Mcclurkin while telling him I got your back Pastor.

Outside of labs, I can count on one hand the number of group projects I have done. These projects were meant to be completed by 2-4 people, and I constantly asked my teachers to be allowed to complete it alone. I don't think it was because Baby Face is Black though. Back in the day when she was up and popping I think they would have dissed someone in favor of Rihanna. And if the producer was a white version of Baby Face I think they would have done the same thing. Baby Face is old news. He's a legend but I think most of the Gen Z and Gen Alphas on tik tok probably have never even heard of him before. It just shows how this industry works and its so cruel. Even Baby Face knows he's not the "it" factor anymore. That's why he handled himself with so much grace. And I don't think Beyonce should have won album of the year. The first time I heard any of her songs from Cowboy Carter was during the Superbowl halftime show. When Lemonade came out the world went crazy. Nobody's bopping to Texas Hold Em. Nobody.
