Well, for one Putin doesn't have only experience in kissing man and an acting career to better sell a story how he cares for his country like in this case Zelensky using it as a jumping board to money. Plus, he's not a suitable puppet for the West/NATO. He's a man of his own convictions that align with his countries wellbeing. He has 22 years of experience in this presidency gig and being an ex spy surely helps. Plus, he was re-elected several times after 1999, each time by a wide margin which means Russian people wanted him and for a reason.
