Hello, Why did you assumed that the magnetic Field is pointing out of the page ?? Can you please explain that ?

Assuming you're talking about Sample Problem #2, I chose the magnetic field pointing out of the page just to pick a direction that meets the problem requirements that the magnetic field is perpendicular to the orbit of the proton. I could just as easily have chosen into the plane of the page and still met the requirement (and would have arrived at the same answer).
