U can tell by the uniforms the Russians who have been in Germany for a while cause they are still wearing the old colorful soviet uniforms and the Russians representing Boris yetsin with the new bland kaki uniforms with the double headed eagle on the hats

This is 1994, then the new uniform had just appeared, in many regions of Russia they continued to wear the old Soviet uniform, and not only in Germany. My father served in the Russian city of Kolomna from 1994 to 1996, but they continued to wear Soviet uniforms.

The U.S. government signed a treaty with West Germany in 1949, and both countries are member states of NATO. The Two-Plus-Four Treaty gave Germany the freedom to join any alliance or treaty organization it chooses to, provided NATO forces don't cross the former East German boundary.

I think the parade looks very smart especially considering most of these guys have probably not been paid (the situation of Russia in the 1990s was as bad if not worse than the 1930s in some ways) but I also think everyone in that parade knows it is a sad day for their country and their army so they want to give a good performance.

Most of them were sent to concentration labor camps, thrown in jail or shot in the back after their return. Because they'd seen how similar the people 'from the outside' are to themselves, they knew for sure just how much the Soviet propaganda lied, not to mention the enormous respect that those people had among the Russian folk and most Europeans at the moment. It probably was a question of KGB staying in power. People were murdered by their own govt for defending their country and then setting their feet on European soil. Most of former Nazi soldiers and collaborationists were not, au contraire.. I might be wrong about your message here, but to me personally this indifference feels so cruel. Take care. Soldiers should stay in their countries and be ready for defense rather than marching on the streets of foreign ones. But not like this

@@MSDOS128 Are you teaching philosophy? If so, KZbin is the wrong place for your lectures.
