Hate to tell you this but North Macedonia is far from a superpower. Their military is smaller than the Albanian, Bulgarian, Serbian and Greek militaries. I have nothing against the country (nor the name) but best case scenario in terms of North Macedonians being related to the ancient Macedonians is a very indirect relation. I say indirect due to refugees from the East Macedonia and Thrace province of Greece being shipped north and mingling with the local population. Hell, most South Slavic ethnic groups are a mix of Slav, Turk and indigenous Balkan tribes like the Paeonians, Thracians, Illyrians, Dardanians and so on
