It's amazing that onitsha, Enugu and other Igbo cities are now more developed that most parts of the north that never saw war. The Igbos are the most resilient black Africans in the world .

Even now, it amazes me. When the war was over, we had absolutely nothing - not even the walls of our house were standing. Then in a frenzy, every male in our village contributed brick-laying, carpentry and masonry skills and a frenetic rebuilding effort began. Those without skills gave their labor, while the women cooked. Money was not charged - nobody had any. All the adults simply swapped skills. Three months later, most families had places to lay their heads without exposure to the elements. The attention then shifted to rebuilding elementary and secondary schools - every community did launches and individuals donated zinc, cement, nails, lumber etc. I still shed tears at the scale of destruction that I witnessed as a child, but I bawl for real when I look at the skylines of Onitsha, Aba, Enugu, Nnewi, Owerri, Nkpor etc today. It's like nothing ever happened - it's unreal.

Don't be a fool. There hundreds of tribes in the north. Hausas, Fulanis, Kanuris, Jukun etc. None of these tribes separately are bigger than the Igbos in population. Apart from Kano, Sokoto and half of Kaduna, what other cities does Hausaland have? Speak for your tribe don't speak for the north. We have Enugu, Port Harcourt, Asaba as well LGCs in all the surrounding states of the 5 nucleus states especially Delta and Rivers state. If you were Yoruba, I would understand as they own Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ilorin, Oshogbo, Ile Ife etc. But you're not. Hausaland isn't better than Igboland. *Case closed*

Very enlightening have to credit the ingenuity and indomitable spirit of the igbos. However just reading the comments we are still beset with the same problems that led to the civil war. Unfortunately it is safe to say that Nigeria is not and never will be a united country.
