I agree!! The first has a modern but also home-y feel but the third has tons of great amenities & is also super aesthetic!! 🙌🏼 I’d also know a friend in each of those buildings which would be nice 🤍

When I looked for a place when I moved from Maryland for work (I live in Albuquerque which is probably the top crime city in the country just maybe lower than Chicago) I just did a ton of research on where the nice parts of the city were and what complex felt the most comfortable. Ultimately it comes down to your gut feeling on where you feel the most safe/what’s the most convenient for you. You’re going to be living here for an entire year so make sure you’re confident in your decision! If you’re confident you’ll have made the right decision in the end :) not to brag, it’s pathetic since the cost of living is so low here but I’m 23 living in an 875sqft 1 bed 1 bath for $875 a month LOL

You have to compromise sometimes. If you love the apartment that’s what matters. Most people commute to their jobs or internships. Also, amenities make or break some things lol. I lived further from my family the first place I rented, but it makes you appreciate seeing them even more when you do see them. Good luck apartment hunting

They’re all very nice! I think you’re subconsciously sold on apartment 3. However, I believe you shouldn’t be in a rush to move. I think you can find a place with all the criteria you want. I often find that the right things are stumbled upon when you thought you missed out on something good. I think you may find something like apartment 3 at a better location for you. It wouldn’t hurt to maybe stick around at home longer and save up for your own place as an investment rather than renting. That’s what I’m doing. Even though I finished school a year ago and love the idea of independence, I have chosen to save up to own a place instead of throwing away money towards rent. As well, with the COVID-19 situation, I’m sure rates will fall even more soon if you wait off. The effect on the economy should hit harder later in the year. As you said, you may find a better price during the winter. Given the current situation and a possible second wave, I’d say waiting can be good. :)

My favorite out of the three is definitely apartment #2! It has more a modern look that I prefer. The two other apartments are nice as well but I don’t know how to explain it... they have an outdated feel to me example granite countertops, dark kitchen and also I found the lighting to be not great.

I go to college in San Diego and I paid $1400 for a single bedroom in a 4 bedroom apartment that was probably half the size of the ones you saw 😅

Omg wow !!!! That’s crazy - the difference of the costs to live in diff places! But also the winters here are awful!! Negative temperatures for months!!! & def not as nice as San Diego! Altho the cost of living is so low here! The comparison is crazy!
