Not sure why you're looking at a studio other than price. Looking at all the stuff you have in your current apartment, this studio wouldn't begin to house all of your things. $4,000 a month is crazy.

The view off that 16th floor balcony gave ME anxiety just watching the video! I realize Boston prices are high, but that is an insane price for an apartment that small. The 19th floor apartment at least has bigger closets, but that's still not worth the price.

If your new job is north of Boston, look up in the North Shore of Boston. The coastal towns of Newburyport, Ipswich, Marblehead, Gloucester and Rockport are great places to live. They are all on the beach and have a train connecting them and to Boston. I grew up in Ipswich I love the North Shore much better than the South Shore. Commuting in and out of Boston is bad by car. If your job is not in Boston consider the Northshore. You will get much more for your money. Boston has New York city prices. And terrible traffic.

The balcony didn’t give me anxiety... until you let the door close behind you on your way out there😳 LOVE that you had the option of a self guided tour: buying or renting, I always had to devise a subtle way to wander away from the realtor/rep to see if I could see myself in the space without their pressure or near constant chatter/questions. I wish that was a standard option everywhere!

Girl, I don't know why if you're considering a job in North Shore, you'd want to live in Seaport? I mean, the traffic alone...I HATE driving down there, it makes me so mad LOL. Also, Seaport has NYC Prices and NONE of the trademark Bostonian charm you would get in Back Bay. Do yourself a favor and get a cute little spot IN North Shore. Rockport is so cute and you'd get more bang for your buck and you wouldn't have to drive as far. If you want to stay urban, why not Somerville, Medford, Cambridge, or Arlington? The other side of the Charles is THE BEST. Also, I've lived in one of these luxury highrises and it was fun at first but in the end, I hated it. It's SO many people. Also...that price is INSANE. LOL As a professional home organizer, I've helped many people living in these types of apartments, and they are NOT built for people, IMO. You notice it had only ONE drawer in the kitchen? That is not uncommon. You do have a lot of items and unless you are prepared to live much more minimally, I think you need to pass that place by! I love these videos though! They are fun! :)

I need to look in all of those places before I decide. Thanks for the suggestions! It will definitely be a big change and I need to do a lot of downsizing for sure. I have lived in very small spaces in the past. It seems like when you have a little bit more space your stuff seems to multiply, at least that’s what’s happened to me! 😂

Seaport is great but you are definitely paying a premium in that building for location. That is a fabulous location in Seaport, close to the T, but the only grocery store within walking distance is Trader Joe’s. It can take up to 1.5 hours for a one way driving commute to the North Shore during peak times.

My son was renting an apartment in San Fran for $4k but it was in bedroom loft apartment much bigger than that.

Congratulations on the new job if you take it. You have so much stuff, your 1 bedroom apartment is already crammed with too much there is no way you can downsize to a studio.
