Mannnn! The tone of that steel guitar brings me almost to tears of joy. Unbelievable country licks! From my viewpoint, as a hard-rock guitar player, I garner the standard fundamentals of pedal steel guitar licks and incorporate them into my own playing style. There is another guy that is well known that also does the same thing. His name is Zakk Wylde.

Dave Hartley, one of the best pedal steel players I've ever heard. Tied with Paul Franklin then Sarah Jory third. Dave is just pure beauty. Franklin is a technical wizard and Jory just Rocks. She picks like lightning and throws the steel around like it's a Frisbee .

I absolutely love the way you play this beautiful instrument. I love the way the steel guitar sounds, it is such a unique sound. And I really like the way that you put the whole thing together by having the accompaniment. I like the version Tammy Wynnette recorded and your version equally. Actually the same goes for all your recordings. They are so well done that I sometimes just listen to them for hours. Thank you for this beautiful recording.

My Dad, who passed away last September, was a huge Country fan and loved the sound of pedal steel - so I grew up listening to the likes of Lloyd Green, Pete Drake and Buddy Emmons, etc.. In my opinion, the tone and depth of the sound you create from your expert playing of these wonderful instruments easily surpasses their playing. I'm no expert, but I guess some of that has to be down to newer technology in terms of instrument design, pickups, amps and that sort of thing, but it's the player that puts the heart into it as well. You are an inspiration to me - I intend to learn to play one, one day..!
