Amazing tank! As a beginner (still haven't committed to even buying anything yet), it would be amazing if you could make a video showing all your equipment in more detail and how each one contributes to making your tank so automated
@reefchronicles28624 жыл бұрын
I have a few videos going over the equipment I decided to buy in depth. Automation really comes from the smart power strips, everything runs on a timer or has a sensor. I really wanted this build to be nearly automated without having to pay crazy money for a tank controller system (like APEX). Biggest thing is automated feeder and automated auto top off! Those alone are worth the money, a doser and even cheap light timers could help for other things.

Glad things are going well for you, I have the IM20 gal, both the Nuvo and Peninsula, and am upgrading later next week. Did alot of the same things, heater controller, all for reef, Id also suggest an InTank media basket on one side and filter floss holder on the other. It gives you a way to use filter floss, seachem purichen and chemi pure elite, helps keep the water clean, phosphates down and any chemical warfare in check. I did buy the random flow generators. I put it off because of the mixed reviews, since its 3D printed alot of people said they arrived to big or to small. I asked the company I ordered from to just save me the trouble of waiting and then having to return them....guess they ignored that request because I got them and they don't fit 🤨 keep up the good work and good luck with everything

I love my GSP, it is slowly starting to encroach on my torch but so far no issues, the rocks are actually SLIGHTY separated so I am hoping it stays on the rock it is on, if not I'll have to peel it off.

Hey Eric! Depending on when you set up the tank you ight be in the "ugly" phase...my tank looks clean in the video but I promise I've had to deal with algae and issues too. I had the same issues with the new BRS AB+, killed corals of mine. So, I run a modified Saxby. Basically, if you pull up Saxby you see how it has peaks throughout the day? I changed the peaks to mimic the original (not new) BRS AB+. Hope that makes sense.

@@reefchronicles2862 hey are you using 2 power strips on one outlet? I was reading it can cause fire 🔥. I don’t have a refugium I want to start one but I don’t have 1 more plug for the light :(
@reefchronicles28623 жыл бұрын
@@davidmurphy4672 hello! While I am using two power strips on one outlet. The second power strip is only 3 outlets versus the 6 on the other. Additionally, the main things that consume a lot of power are the light and heater. Personally I feel comfortable with my set up, but you need to decide your own risk factors. I can also monitor energy consumption on my power strips to see what everything is actually drawing.

Nice tank and video! I have the same tank but I'm looking to change the return pump. The one it came with is losing power after almost an year. Did you have to make plumbing changes with the mighty jet return pump?
@reefchronicles28624 жыл бұрын
Hey! First off I would suggest cleaning the pump. My pumps always tend to lose some force when they’re doesn’t and I’m always shocked how much stronger they are after I deep clean them. Love the tank! Wanting to get one but have a wall of South/West facing windows and worried about algae taking over because of this. Do you have a lot of natural sunlight entering the room and do you see this being an issue?
@reefchronicles28624 жыл бұрын
Luckily sunlight never directly hits my tank, only partial rays here and there so I can’t really comment on it. But I’ve seen others say it will cause issues and you should be aware of where the sun will shine before placing a tank.
