Great work editing and informing. I’m coming next year. I’d be glad to see more videos of hotels we could stay for a month. 2- I also hear about Da Nang Karaoke and Construction noise issue. It would be great, If you can do a video showing the areas that we can choose in order to be as far away as possible from those noisy areas. Greeting from Rio de Janeiro.

If you get married with a Vietnamese person or have Vietnamese citizenship and you have a healthy marriage. You can make build a house that has what that 3000 USD a month place has for 120-200k USD if you buy land just outside of major city centers or similar . You can't always trust gated communities. Most are for theater if you know, you know anyways. I married a doctor from Vietnam and we just build a house sort of like that on land she owned that she bought 5 yrs before we met outside of HCMC, we are very happy together ( She owned 4 properties there ranging from 40- 120k USD, we picked the one that made the most sense for us) . This house we built would cost me over 2.4-3 million in Los Angeles where I am from. Just food for thought if you want to build a family there, 3000 a month seems like a bit much. At the rate if security is a concern I could just pay for on site security whenever we're not home for more then a day or have two guys as security to split the week in half play them 300-400 a piece a month. I have a guest 2 bedroom guest house, I can even throw that in and play them less and have them someone keeping a eye out for my interests. I got everything like the pool and sauna, just don't have a tennis court or football court but I care for neither.

Hello 👋. Great Video . Are there scams to watch out for when renting , like landlords renting apartments to more than one tenant at a time . Or people renting apartments that aren’t really there’s to rent . Or landlords not fixing things . Is it common To have a lawyer look over the paperwork before signing it ? I mean you put out 6 months rent at once . But m sure you trusted the people you were dealing with . Thank you 😊

So do you go somewhere for a couple days? Apply, wait for renewal? Which seems crazy bcuz the application asks for an “entry” day/month/yr. I’ll be dealing with this very soon and wondering what steps ppl are doing regarding this, when wanting to stay longer than 3month. Cheers

Websites are generally not accurate or updated well. Airbnb is a decent option for a month or less. Anything more I think you should contact a local agent to try to properly rent a place. I put the contact info of the agent in the description if you want to message him for options. The market changes so quickly you only need to worry about looking for a place within a few weeks of arriving.

Awesome video Travis!!! I've been waiting for this video from you! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I have a few questions that I can also ask Tony, the realtor, but I would like your take on it first. When you get a chance and if you know the answers to any/all of these questions, please let me know. Thanks! 1) Are the prices in the video for furnished or unfurnished apartments? If unfurnished, do the furniture stores there also have Delivery + Setup services, and how much do they charge for that? 2) What is the average response time for maintenance in case something breaks down in the apartment? 3) I'm interested in the 3 bedroom apartment, but since I'm traveling alone, am I allowed to rent out the other 2 bedrooms to anyone I want without having to inform the landlord? 4) Do they sell 75" and 85" smart TVs over there? If not, then what is the largest size TV they have over there? I'm a bit spoiled and used to a certain style of living. 5) Do they sell large 49" curved monitors in Da Nang? If yes, what is the price range? If no and I have to ship my monitors to Vietnam, how safe is it to do so without it being stolen or confiscated? Any recommendations/advice for shipping large and expensive items is appreciated. 6) I want to live in a building where a bunch of restaurants, supermarkets, and convenient stores are within a couple blocks of walking distance. Which apartment building do you recommend? 7) Would you please recommend a visa agent? If and when I make it to Da Nang, our first coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are on me. Thanks again for making this awesome video! You're the best Travis! 😀

Hi Travis, I've seen some of your videos and I have to say they are very well done. Now close to retirement I would like to move to Vietnam, renting a small apartment for a long time. That's why I'm asking you a question about which area, near the coast, do you recommend me to look for? A cheap rent of course. Finally I ask you: what if there are no constraints on the number of visa renewals?? That is, can you leave before the 90 days expire, and go to Thailand for example for a week or a month, and in the meantime request a new visa for another 90 days??? And repeat this as many times as you want??? Of course I would keep the rent of the apartment in Vietnam in the meantime.....it can be done forever, if the laws don't change, correct?? Sorry if I've dragged on....and while waiting for your response, I wish you all the best. Antonino

Maybe I'm out of touch as the value of a dollar has shifted hard in recent years but from what I've seen all these prices seem off by about +100-150USD.. for Da Nang, but maybe the gentrification is going hard out there? Idk, Americans often get an extra tax just for being American but since you speak Vietnamese and date a local (I think) I'd imagine you can avoid that, my friends have been able to get places like these for quite a bit cheaper in the past, it surprised me finding out their rents, but it's been a few years since I was out that way.. Always really well made, engaging but to the point videos, cheers.

as a fellow youtuber, I would recommend tweaking this title a bit for virality's sake. Maybe $300 vs $3000 Apartments in Vietnam, something like that.either way, love the video travis, I'm definitely considering moving to vietnam some day because of you!

You all are about to do the same thing to Vietnam you all did to Mexico. The price will be up before we know it. How many Vietnamese locals can actually afford it, If the locals cannot afford it; it's not affordable. Stop taking our standards that we're running from here the only standard because it's not apples and apples. Compare it to any other country in the same GDP category and tell me if it's affordable.

Anyone able to give me a brief run down on how “making money online via your online business” while living In Vietnam works? I won’t be doing any physical work of course, it will all be on my laptop collection from my website. Thank you 🙂

Now see there -- I'm a minimalist frugal guy -- and you show people like me... NOTHING ! --- Oh - you simply 'mention' there are studios for around $250 -- but 'show' nothing --&-- THOSE are what I want to see !!! --- Cheap to rent easy to clean - and - cheap to cool -?- is what many of us frugal expats - and those on very tight budgets - actually want and/or need !?! --- Not the extravagant wasteful choices only. 🤔

I enjoy these videos man. They’ve helped move Da Nang up to the top couple of my destinations for remote work starting later this year. But the below is what’s holding me up about Vietnam… It might not be the flashiest topic, but it’d be great to hear something about different types of visas and ways to stay. I understand that Vietnam decreased the US tourist visa from 3 to 1 month, which makes that avenue lot less feasible. It seems like Vietnam is now intentionally making remote working there more difficult post-pandemic. @travistravelsvietnam

Visa is 3 months for everyone. Its not ideal but I've been managing it for a while now. I've got a couple videos about visa stuff. Lots of people here working remote.

If I come to stay I’ll send ya a message and I owe you lunch 😅💯 (any leads of folks to talk to re. renting, agencies, etc. outside of going the Airbnb route? DM okay ofc if preferable)
