Mineral Waters in the TULGHES - CORBU Area (Harghita County, Romania)

The Tulgheş -- Corbu hydromineral structure is located in the central part of the Eastern Carpathians, more precisely in the northeastern part of Harghita county (Romania), covering the middle basin of the Bistricioara River. The mineral springs, numbering about twenty, are unevenly distributed over an area of ​​about 100 km2, almost exclusively in the geological framework of the Crystalline-Mesozoic Zone. The Tulgheş - Corbu hydromineral structure is characterized by a great distance from the Neogene eruptive limit (Călimani and Gurghiu mountains), generator of the mofetic halo, and by the diversified geological framework that makes the mineral waters in this area present a very varied chemistry. Another peculiarity consists in the fact that the springs have (very) small flows, are (generally) isolated, far from human settlements and because of this the catchments are (generally) non-existent or of poor quality, the springs being very exposed to degradation due to natural or anthropogenic, as actually happened in several situations.
The hydromineral sources in the Tulgheş -- Corbu area identified and presented in this video montage are the following:
• Mineral sources in the area of ​​the Putna stream basin: well F1 Hagota (mixture of gas and water, without impregnation), well 5 Putna (salty carbonated mineral water), well 6 Putna (salty carbonated mineral water), well 29 Baratul Mare (strongly mineralized ), Sandor spring (disappeared, landslide), Rezu Mare spring (recaptured and water brought to the street), Deac spring 1, Cibeni spring, Marcu spring (disappeared, landslide)
• Other sources in the area of ​​Tulgheş commune: Runc spring, Vărariai spring, Borvizu Bun spring, Borvizu Rău spring, Good spring (Prisecani; initial catchment disappeared after a strong flood), Bad spring (Prisecani)
• Springs from the Pintic valley basin: Arşiţa spring (emerges from Fliş), Paltin spring (emerges from Fliş), Gallery IV IMR (drained the springs from Prâul cu Peşte), Arşiţa spring
• Sources in the area of ​​Corbu commune: Branea spring (older catchment, water brought on the road), Barasău well 36 (salty and carbonated water), Bogdan spring (on Comarnic), Comarnic spring "2", Asod well 30 (salty water and carbonated), the Asod spring (disappeared, landslide), the Tisaş spring (undeveloped), the Huian spring (undeveloped), the Bakos spring (formerly Laurentiu, in Capu Corbului).
