Having deleted social media (not KZbin tho) a month ago and rediscovered the pleasure of reading, I feel an undeniable happiness. My ability to focus has returned, and I no longer feel as though I'm teetering on the edge of exhaustion.

I did that a few months ago: no news, no Reddit, no forums, more reading, more music and more time outside. I did feel better, but slowly added it all back in over time. I need to do it again and probably come to the realization that there really is no healthy amount of this anyone should consume.

Sure, that's true, but if you were truly paying attention, then this video should the last mental distraction you have. I got off social media about 5 years ago, before covid. I kept youtube for movie and video clips. But, I am now considering getting rid of KZbin as well. Losing social media was the best thing I did. Eventually, I also started leaving my phone at home. I feel liberated and on top of my life.

Im 28 so i grew up in a Time without Social Media or at Least the Early versions of Facebook and You Tube ... you know "Broadcast Yourself" ... no Ads , no Popups , no Sponsoring just Stupid Teenager Sharing Stupid Videos they made with their Digital Cameras ... than things changed .. i am now at a point where i Am scared ... i can not Focus myself anymore ! I usually watch a lot of documentaries and Science videos and back in the days it was no Problem for me watching a 30-45 Minute video without a break ... now when i watch a video catch myself ,Swiping through You tube , Opening Instagram and sometimes even Click on Random videos that i find interesting ... i can not focus on finishing 1 single video anymore... and that scares me ! . I can’t focus on Watching Movies anymore unless its in the Theater... i have over 150 videos in my "Watch later" playlist because and cant keep up with it

*matter of fact I comment on every video I watch , and I watched 3000 + videos this year. I will hit 3500 !! by Dec* 1.5x speed , and sometimes repetion of content , 10 mins ~ - 14mins avg vids. ( youtube binging when free time ) This is true for trackers. When I walk outside , exercise or sleep I can't without my new band. I got it free with my expensive phone but ever since I got it , I can put phone aside but not band. Because if I don't wear it I can't know how many steps I took . My activity . It also warns me every 30 mins to do something if I idle and sit , and also it tracks my sleep ( deep sleep / light sleep / overall sleep ). I didn't knew I'd get used to it easily. Trust me as A Spec and info nerd , I can quit social media but not my band. I will loose my mind if I don't know how much I sleep or walk . It's the same with how much I obscess in specs of phones / pc or game data , science data . I knew this could happen ! before even I started wearing it as a habit
