Sorry I‘m that guy but diving in ice cold water while being drunk is really the pinnacle of stupidity and he should get the Darwin award for such a stupid death. Not being disrespectful here, just speaking facts. By drinking alcohol you lose heat more quickly, and he was also obese and out of shape which you should not be while swimming in ice water. Only healthy people should submerge themselves in -1 Celsius water.

Bad news for all apetor fans. Friday the 26th Tor Eckhoff (apetor) broke through the ice outside of Kongsberg, he was found by rescue divers who performed life-saving treatment on him and he was flown to Ullevål Hospital where he died saturday the 27th. Rest in peace tor, hopefully you'll enjoy the same things in the afterlife wherever that might be.

More than once I have wondered if Apetor suffered from depression like I. He gave me some motivation to live. it's gut wrenching knowing that this man, full of life and anticipation, would leave us only a few days after this video. i had watched apetor for years, on and off, and would occasionally come across a video of his. every time, without fail, it was an enjoyable experience to watch him live as many of us could never even hope to- care free and without strife, surrounding himself with what he loved. when i had watched this video for the first time on the 22nd, i looked forward to seeing him attempt to scribble '58' atop the other three numbers, but i know now that'll never happen. he's now one with the very element he flourished in; and i hope to not keeping crying of this loss, but to look at him as an example of what we all should strive to become. rest in peace, Apetor, and thanks for the years of content you so selflessly provided for us.

Just found this Channel today, i've watched a lot of Tors vids, he was funny and charming and brought Light to this Dark World. He was like a 'big kid' and did things similar to what kids do when we was younger I'm 72, but young at heart, i've watched him dive into ice-cold water, i've sat here in the UK with the Central Heating on and i still feel the cold. The world needs cheering up and that's what Tor did, thanks for all the laughs, it's a great legacy you have left us. R.I.P. Tor.

I was at his meetup with fans in Warsaw, Poland. After an hour or so, when a considerable portion of the crowd broke off and went about their business, a smaller group of us went ahead with an idea to take Apetor to a nearby restaurant, and spend some extra time with him there. It was easily one of the best days in my life (yes, each shot of vodka was followed by us mimicking his trademark 'aaghhh'). You'd be surprised how clever and deep insights that man had, and how intelligent and philosophical his outlook on life was. I hoped I would have at least another occasion in my life to meet with him and have a chat again, but alas - now we're all here to honour his tragically lost life. Here's a fun fact: Apetor had an interest in anthropology. His name was actually a combination of the word 'ape' (reflecting our biological origin), and his real name 'Tor'. I hope Apetor's family will find peace. Hvil i fred, Tor.

He lost control and drowned. He was rushed to hospital by air ambulance but they couldn't bring him back. Just shows how easy life can be taken from you. He was recovered and died shortly after from his injuries. This was a man I hoped would never go. But when you take risks enough times something will eventually happen. This man lived a great life.
