Positioning was and is one of my flaws but this video actually is mind opening... But I feel like low confidence is another flaw I have when playing. I tend to hesitate a lot when making decisions, and for some reason, I tend to think of what my Randoms think of whenever I make a play. This results in worst gameplay compared to when I'm vibing and having a laugh!

Random Fact: Bullets in apex legends comes out of your head(Crosshair). That's why head glitches are powerful. Although your gun is covered by an object, so long as you can aim your crosshair at an enemy, you will be able to hit them. The muzzle flash and effects are just for show/immersion. (This is the concept of the "Head Glitch")

I’ve already been improving my positioning a bit. After watching your videos (and ALGS) I’ve realized you can make cover out of a rock, a box, heck- even a slope of what looked like flat, open space. I still swing too wide when I’m ready to shoot though.

I’ve been focusing on positioning more and more lately. I’ve still got a ways to go. But I play Valorant and CSGO, and quite a few other games where positioning is very important. I know it’s less important on a lot of other games I play and so I don’t focus on them much right now. Anyway I’ve got a pretty good handle on my aiming and movement in Apex. I play on PS5 and also on PC. So I have experience with KBnM and also Controller on both. I prefer controller but that’s what I’ve been on for a very long time. I’ve been gaming since the Super Nintendo I got when I was like 9 years old and I’m 36 now and don’t care if people think I’m old. I love playing Apex with my nieces and nephews when I’m not working. And it’s been so much fun helping them improve to the point that now they’ve all surpassed me. Thanks to them being attentive and also having much more time to play and improve. This was very helpful to remind me and also alert me to things I’ve been missing in trying to improve. If you think you know it all you’ll never look for ways to improve. So I always think of myself as a player who needs improvement. That way I can always find new ways to implement better strategies into my game. I’d say right now I’m about average to slightly above average at the skill level for Apex. And this video is still very helpful.

I need like 100 more videos on LOS and positioning. Apex is my first FPS and I absolutely love the game. However, I realize that as I begin to get in higher lobbies, I am so lost as to angles and multi-level buildings. Your video was so helpful. Please make more. 🤞
@HomebrewGuy2 жыл бұрын
Very helpful and actually something I do put into practice. Someone once told me shoot from 60% cover. I really appreciate your videos, keep up the great work. The problem is approaching gunfights and being caught in rotation. Also, simply landing and immediate gunfights. I solo queue a lot and run into so many players that want Estates/Fight Night, East Frag, and Antenna. Most the times i find myself looking for a gun while teammates just start punching and we're all sent back to lobby.
@kylelevin38232 жыл бұрын
This was super helpful. After watching this I jumped immediately into a game and noticed I was paying way more attention to my angles ,where I could abuse cover, and peaking. I also tried using a triple take for most of the game which I usually never use a peaking type of weapon.
@ciloocla2 жыл бұрын
I’ve started paying more attention to my positioning and cover this season. My win % went from around 4% to just above 6%. Furthermore, my damage output per game has gone from around 250 avg. to closer to 500 just by paying more attention to my positioning. I have way more games now where I’m doing 1200+ damage without using a sniper. I used to have to use a sniper to get upwards of 1k. My KD is slowly climbing towards 1.0 now because of it (was .70 at beginning of season 13). Still have a long way to go, but I’ve certainly noticed a big difference in my output since applying some of the tips you’ve talked about.

I'm still relatively new to apex, "What do I need to improve on?" Everything. But I've been really liking your mindset going into games and improving, realizing that you're not going to win every game and that's alright, though you could always get better than you were before. Keep it up. 👍

Bro i would recommend just practice strafing in the firing range, do it 5 mins Before each session and it will come take an smg and 2x r301 and practice shooting at dummy while strafing and it will improve ur aim and make u strafe unconsciously over time Coz I wasnt strafing at first and I did this and now it’s almost natural for me to strafe, after that practice crouch strafing (recommend paddles or button puncher layout, button puncher helps with wall bouncing but takes a few hours to get used to but defo recommend) I need to work positioning gale awareness and peeking so thanks a lot to you dazs u r the one who made le realise how bad my positions and game awareness is PS: pls don’t reply to this the notification annoys me 😁 ur thanks for everything ddazs keep it up and I hope I helped u Micheal

I myself did this mistake and i usually still do this mistake because its so natural especially if cod is ur background. I fortunally playd cs go back in the days so this positioning is kinda the same concept of cs . This mirage clone thing is very usefull to understand how much of ur body you show up in varius situations and then it becomes just muscle memory. Hi Dazs, thanks for the video, to answer your question, yes in console there is the usage of minimising your hitbox but I've found it only at higher level ranked, in Platinum EU, everyone is peeking and doing their best to minimise their hitbox. In gold and below it is less prevalent. Thanks for the tips I enjoy your videos alot they're really useful

@@Dazs I actually play in PC lobbies very often because one of my friends is on PC, Platinum PC ranked is very tough for us and console is a tiny bit easier. We find the aim is more accurate in PC lobbies, headglitching is more prevalent and people just seem to know how to position and really take angles on you. We have success on PC regularly in Gold (S13) lobbies so we know that as console/controller players we can beat out people with double the FPS but I guess it just comes with time, we are only D4s going up against mainly masters. Really enjoy your spectating Platinum lobbies series I watch them all. ❤️🙏🏿

I think for me it’s pretty much the opposite. I was a Level 1 Challenger in CoD Vanguard and just switch to apex in the second half of season 12. I am now pretty much hard stuck in Diamond 4/3. I am paying really close attention to play early beacons, loot fast, play way slower then in cod and try to focus on getting a place to setup for the end fight. I just feel like I do certain “cod aim type things” were I slide cancel or jump shoot instead of focus on just tracking. I also find it pretty hard to implement wall jumps, super glides and all these movements. Also the 60hz really suck on ps5.

@Dazs2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to keep up if you have a good angle, the jump on the opponent, and solid game sense. Don't track the start of the tap strafe. Track the end of it. (Slowest part of the movement) Movement for console is more limited as you cannot reconfigure keybinds like controller on PC. Just remember to slide jump and wait for your fist to come out. If you focus more on positioning, you will succeed more than dumping hours on movement.
