But they disabled the part of his memory that remembers the events that happened before he became a simulacrum. So he never realizes he died to begin with until that glass shard caused his memory to malfunction and the truth came flooding in

I don’t think it’s that he can see his past self as much as it is due to his programming in his eyes, he’s still human, that’s why he shaves and things like that but when he looked in his reflection after killing Lobas (presumably) father and had the glass shard in his neck he probably realized that if he was human he would be dead.

But also the detail in his character. Like with the Halloween event how the shadows could climb forever. That's how he scaled the building and then the whole shadow mode. Like that was super dope. I am really loving the lore here. (Although they have said no to a campaign I feel they could pull it off and I would love to see one where you play as these characters and get to see more about their story through the mode.)
