Happy Wednesday everyone. I tried my hand at sand casting some Apex Legends Kunai knives. They came out pretty good and it was a fun experience with something new to me. I hope you all enjoy, have a great day, and a great rest of your week!

Since I can not do it personally, you can feel free to pat yourself on the back.Those are excellent Kunai knives! They are beautiful. The aluminum looks like higher quality. You can def see all of the details. And they buffed up beautifully. You should feel very proud of your work! And, I'll see you next time! 😊

Awesome photography on the melt, I haven’t seen anyone melt that thick aluminum before, it was as mesmerizing as the molten copper. Nice job.
@TheGrowingStack Жыл бұрын
Thank you Jim! It was fun to melt that think of a piece. It sat there for about 8 minutes getting hot, and then, well, I showed the most exciting part. Good to hear from you!!

loved the way they turned out, you are gwtting good. I still think you should try casting a bass body or mini bass.
@TheGrowingStack Жыл бұрын
Thank you Sinaka! A bass or mini bass would be awesome, I need to look into that more. Good to hear from you as always!!
@sinakaedwards2009 Жыл бұрын
@@TheGrowingStack I figure on a full size or short scale bass the body would be easier to cast by itself. Ibanez mikro is perfect because of the smaller soundgear body. However, there are a ton of clones out there and can be found at a pawn shop usually under $100. or any guitar body really, awesome cheap metal looking guitars can be found everywhere.

Great casting! I know i might have mentioned this before but some day i am going to cast a tiffany style staindglass lamp base. Watching your channel make me want to try sooner. Cheers from Wisconsin!

I can tell already that this is going to be one sick video !! I cant wait to see how they turn out. They turned out great !! I would sharpen the blade part. What a fantastic addition to the Growing Stack !! One day I would love to see you do a sword in all Nordic Gold and give it all a mirror shine. I know, easy for me to say LOL I have been following you for a long time and you have turned what you do into a art. Thanks for sharing !!

Hi Mr. Stack, I’m very new to your channel and am very interested in doing similar things that you are doing. I wanted to ask if for an upcoming video if you could maybe put in subtitles what the tools you used are called, or maybe a beginners guide to casting and forging things like this. I love the idea of sand casting and would love to learn from you. Thanks!

Thank you my friend! I’ll try and include as much detail as possible on the tools and devices I am using in the video. Glad to have you here! 👍

Hey my friend!! Great to see you again!! was worried I might not catch another of your videos before my heart surgery on the 16th next month.. Was a great melt.. so is 6061 a softer version of standard aluminum?? It poured awesome and the knives turned out great... even the imperfections seemed to add to them rather than take away.. Hope you got some cooler weather finally... we have had a week in the 80's and down into the 60's at night.. is a good deal LOL I know out there is just as hot like we are here..I saved and got a small cheap furnace and am hoping to get going soon.. but got to invest in the tank and other items... Where did you get your crucible from and the pourer... The same place as the casting sand?? Well always great to see another project down and looking good... Be safe and much love and respect my friend...and as always thanks for any info too!!!
@TheGrowingStack Жыл бұрын
I hope everything goes well on the 16th my friend! You’ll be fine, just stay positive, good energy coming your way! I’ve heard 6061 is good for machining, extruding, known for its strength and corrosion resistance mainly. I’ve heard it’s great for casting, albeit more expensive to just melt down. It worked pretty well so I’m happy with it for sure. It has been cooler, I’m definitely thankful for that. I get my crucibles from PMC supplies(they sell them on Amazon also) and the pouring tool and lifters I made from flat steel. I wish you the best and I’ll try and get some more melts up as soon as possible!

Where do you get aluminum like that. Also I seen in previous videos when you go to hardware store and buy ingots. Not hardware store near me has anything like that. In ohio.
@TheGrowingStack Жыл бұрын
I got that aluminum from that same store. It’s industrial metal supply in Phoenix AZ. 👍

Dude those look great. How hard would it be to do one of those grem Reapers you have?
@TheGrowingStack Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think I would need to do the whole plaster cast, burn out method. I’ve been wanting to get the tools to do that for a long time. One of these days I will and expand my abilities. 👍
