Artdeshine GRAPHENE COATINGS!!! Are Graphene Coatings Here To Stay?

Today, we put Art De Shine Graphene Coatings through the Apex Detail Review Process! In order to achieve the best shine and protection, Artdeshine formulates and manufacture specialised automotive care products that cannot be found elsewhere. Graphene in its simplest form, at just one atom thick, is the lightest, strongest and thinnest material known to man. Its excellent properties make it a desirable substance to be incorporated into car coatings. This is a made-easy to apply consumer-grade graphene coating. Strong waterspot prevention, rapid heat dispersion, reduced surface temperature, corrosion and chemical resistance. Reduced graphene oxide and Polydimethylsiloxane are combined in this product to reduce surface temperature and disperse heat quickly. The cooler surface reduces the effects of water etching, corrosion and harmful chemical reactions.

Shake well (important), then apply enough products that'll create a fine oily film on a 2x2 ft section.
Must be applied in a shaded cool area.
Let it set for no longer than 20 seconds, then wipe off.
If the ambient temperature is too hot and streaking starts to occur, either use the coating again on the area and wipe off right away (it uses the solvents to take the high spots off), or use a damp towel to remove streaks then buff with a dry towel.
Cures in 24~48 hours, layerable in 4~6 hours.
First we have to understand what graphene oxide is. Graphite oxide - graphene oxide - rGO/ From graphite oxide, oxidisation agents are used to cause a reaction that increases the interplanar spacing between the layers of graphite. Importantly, this allows the oxidised graphite oxide to be dispersed in a base solvent like water and such so that graphene oxide can be produced.
Both graphite oxide and graphene oxide are chemically similar but structurally different. The main difference is through the oxidisation that changes the interplanar spacing. Now the most important thing to know is the reduction of GO into rGO. This determines the quality and how close the rGO will be to pristine graphene-based on the methods used. Of course, the rGO we used is not almost pristine graphene as that is unnecessary for our application and an added cost to our product.
opical regions and summer, heat and UV from the sun can have a detrimental effect on surfaces. Heated surfaces soften and weakens. Any substances like bug splatter, bird droppings, plant sap or even leftover rainwater will heat up and become more reactive. This allows the substances, both acidic or alkali to cause damage or corrode surfaces easily, resulting in marks, etching and spotting. In colder regions and winter, contaminants like present in ice/snow is just as damaging to surfaces. The use of salt to deice roads adds to the problems.
PDMS when compared to many other base components like SiO2, has a lower thermal conductivity, thus lowering the absorption of heat. This reduces the chances of substances reacting on treated surfaces. The slickness/smoothness of PDMS reduces the ability of ice/snow from sticking onto surfaces.
The rGO we used has shown the ability to help our product resist corrosion, disperse heat quickly and reinforce polymer matrixes (denser polymer). rGO is used with the purpose of reinforcing the toughness of PDMS, prolonging their durability and ability to stay on treated surfaces. While PDMS itself already possess great anti-corrosion capabilities, rGO by itself is an excellent anti-corrosion material to supplement PDMS.

Great video Brian. Couple notes I would like to make is Graphene BX is a 1-year coating and and maintenance is another 1-year. So at most it would be 2-3 years of protection. 5-years protection would be the ArtDeShine Nano Graphene/SPS Graphene.

When you add in the improved resistance to water spots this coating should become a big seller. Hi Brian, I bought a new Toyota RAV4 on 1 Oct 2020 (my first ever car and not much into cars in the past) and since then have been going through all your videos and have become obsessed with car detailing. Love your channel and unbiased reviews on the products and you are a great mentor. I pray your channel achieve higher limits, you deserve it. With a high quality coating like that, a regular touchless auto car wash will do a very decent job maintaining that vehicle along with bringing it back to Brian a couple times a year for a refresh. 👍👌 I see good results with clients who do that here, versus those who wash it themselves even after wash training, the less they touch it, the better usually.. but in the end all we can do is tell them to stick to touchless auto washes, send them home with some training, some quality waterless wash and towels and just hope for the best. 😁

Hi Brian, thank you for the demo of that coating. I do respect how you clean the shop before applying, and how you try to maintain an almost dust free environment. I wish the shop that allied my coating did the same thing. One question, what cloths are you using in this video? They don’t look like traditional microfiber cloths, they look more refined, as though they may be better than typical yellow and blue cloths offered at most retail outlets. Appreciate it. PT

Great video Brian. Did you find the BX to be sticky to remove? Was it slick after it was completely removed before the maintenance coat? I would like to try it but if it’s really hard to remove i might pass. I am currently a fan of CSL + EXOv4 due to its easy application and incredible slickness.

I want this product but I need more info and I don’t want to redo my daily’s that I just coated. I was used to flash times until I started using Gtechniq CSL + exo. It’s a 3-5 yr coating and doesn’t flash. Started using this when TAC left the states.

Love your videos. As part of a yearly maintainence wash on a ceramic coated vehicle, are you meant to clay the vehicle or only decontaminate chemically? I know that claying will remove contaminants that a chemical decon will not, but wont the clay somewhat reduce the lifespan of the coating or slightly abrade it. Keep up the awesome videos.

Hey, I tried to make my own detailing product and it worked, can you maybe do a video about that too? I used fresh Carnauba Wax, snake oil, Water, Orange, cherry powder and silica dioxide. It has the same "functions" as the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Spray, but smells better and is easier to apply. I applied it 3 Months ago and it still looks amazing

definitely interested in the window coating. if graphene disperses heat, would it keep the inside a vehicle cooler during summer? I am no fan of window tinting if it is not molded in to the glass from manufacture. When it comes to painted surfaces, I still love going thru the process of installing a sealant.
