To explain the taliyah ult going the wrong way at 2:49 - he clicked on the taliyah icon, which made it self-cast, which defaults it to the base.

Other ults, You can self cast Ziggs ult so you die out with a bang if the enemy is a melee champ and burned flash/dashes

Well there's two parts to it. One is that clicking your champion icon (or in some cases, allied champion icons) self-targets (or targets said ally). The second is that many abilities you wouldn't think self target, target yourself or your own base. The second one is actually a rather useful feature for a lot of champions. In Dota 2 self-casting teleport targets your own fountain too, and it's used incredibly often. Anyhow. It basically makes the taliyah ult a panic button. And not having to target manually makes it faster for that purpose. It's a nifty little feature that 99.9% of players will never come across, though.
