I like the 2448 better than the 1608 as with 2 inputs, you can control the signal going into your DAW with the rotary knobs and you have the long faders for mixing. What seems to be missing though is Group faders. On a console of this size, and its costs, I would want several group faders.

Has group faders but they are rotary pots. Agree that group faders would be sick. The group section with the ACA summing (groups) is a single bucket width so they really crammed it in there. I havent had a problem using the little pots to manage group volume on my 1608.

As a business expense that's not much. Considering a typical commercial studio is like 100/HR and much more. So 1200.00-2400 per day. A true pro studio is booked 24/7. So yeah you can afford 100k super easily...

Hey, John! It's Mickey from Sweetwater, thanks for reaching out! With the API 2448, each channel has hardware inserts to incorporate analog hardware like compression/eq/filters, etc. Because this console is inline, you can use it both while tracking or mix down. Unless you wanted to keep the 2bus Plus for an alternative work-flow, keep it, but realistically the summing bus of the console deems most of it's circuitry redundant. Wonder why they use the old steam meters. Just my opinion but I have always disliked meters way up high. Seems they should be right next to the fader like Avid S6. I find myself looking up then down to the fader instead of right to the fader.

Idk. i think my recording workflow are better with one and its doesnt cost much compared to what i earn with it. Even thou itb getting better these day i still prefer work with console. Imaging shearing of quarters or thirds of the time u use to work itb. Time are money and if u can work faster its more money or more rest. imma sticking with console for now.

Im am myself an itb guy but not fully i have this console it makes my work s lot easier and keeps me energetic and makes me feel that i am doing something plugins dont give me that feel. Get a console and use plugins too for effects
