You are the best A&P teacher. I spent literally an hour looking for a teacher who actually explains and doesn't just read slides. Thanks for making it so easy and understandable. I used to hate anatomy, but you actually made me learn it. Thank you so much!

I've been struggling so much with A&P and I'm so happy I found this channel . I've learned so much by just listening and repeating to myself then what I've learn in class . A BLESSINGGG

You are such a great teacher. I do not learn near as much with my recorded lectures as I do with yours. I love that you teach, it’s hard to come by in college. So thank you for going above and beyond!!! I currently have an A+ in this class and it’s all because of your channel!!! You’re amazing!

I am so grateful to have found your videos here. I am taking A&P online and my professor just handouts assignments without any explanation or anything..so it was really hard to learn everything based only on the book I was reading. Finding your lectures is life-saving for my course. You explain everything so well and understandably. I appreciate all you do. Please keep posting more videos.

Thank you very much! You make it so easy to understand...and is not that the reason for attending college...is to understand so that you can apply what you learn to make a better caregiver? Success is not defined as passing a course, it is defined as understanding concepts and then applying the knowledge to make the world a better place. Your educational videos are wonderful! Thank you for creating!!
@teachmeaandp3354 жыл бұрын
You said it perfectly. So much if our education consists of memorizing and regurgitating facts without actually understanding anything. Compression is so much more challenging, but also rewarding. I love that you are learning in order to be a good practitioner as opposed to earning an A. Don't get me wrong, the grade is important for the sake of getting into your program, but the end goal is so much bigger and carries so much more weight! Thanks for watching!

Hi Dr. Wallis! Question for you. You mentioned that the osteoblasts secrete osteoid and that the osteoid is just the organic components (collagen fibers) of the matrix. The calcium gets incorporated later and the bone then becomes calcified. My question is how does the calcium get incorporated into the matrix if not by osteoblasts? Do osteocytes do that? Or are bone cells not involved with calcification?
@rachelseotlo12552 жыл бұрын
Calcium gets incorporated by the osteoclasts which are activated by the PTH

This is an old comment, but for anyone reading it, go to playlists and choose the playlist that matches your class (example: anatomy and physiology I lecture). You will see all the videos in order. That's the easiest way to find something that you are looking for!

A question: you say bone cells only take 2% in bone mass. Does it mean in compact bone or spongy bone or doesnt matter.
@teachmeaandp3353 жыл бұрын
Either one. It's a percentage so it's a relative number. Spongy bone has less mass overall so it has fewer cell (2% of a lower mass will give you a smaller number for the cells). I hope that makes sense. It's hard to explain things in a couple typed sentences. 🙂

Thank you for your video. Two things I wish you did is control the microphone, it really kills your ears when you talk closely. Like literally kills your years. And the other one is your picture is covering important material. While you explained important information about osteoclasts and you where circling I couldn't see anything because your picture was on it. Otherwise thank you, a helpful video.

Hello, Lessons learned as I got used to making videos. Sorry about the ears though. I've never listened to it with headphones 🎧. 😕
