A few things I didn't mention in the video...there are very detailed instructions for the entire hive. The other downfall is if you wanted to treat the hive with an Oxalic Acid Vapor...the hive entrance doesn't come off.

Thanks for posting this- I'm starting this year with 2 of these hives (bees coming in April). . Another thing I'd add is these hives are available with or without frames, and standard (wood) Langstroth frames and boxes do fit with these boxes. I'm using wood frames with mine.

I wonder how this would work in a sub tropic climate like SW Florida? Hive beetles are a major problem here!

It would work fine, my suggestion to control hive beetles would be to use diatomaceous earth in the beetle trap.

Well, i understand it may be cheaper in Turkey, but you have to figure they have to come here on containers from Turkey and then the seller has to make some profit..so far, I've been satisfied with them.

The Queen can get out the drone hole...the queen needs a way out in case they make a new queen & she has to go on a mating flight

thanks- got some in the feeder with syrup labels facing out- any idea how long it lasts (do they consume it before it goes bad or?)

Another good tip is wait until the bees have drawn all the frames out in the bottom box & when they do, add a second box but take the honey frames & move them to the top box then, add new frames to the bottom box for them to draw comb.
