Natalie A. Her hands have nothing to do with her actual vocals though. The reason singers do that is to not look stiff on stage. It’s also a bit of a placebo effect because they think that they sound more stable or better while moving. You know how Mariah Carey touches her ear when she hits high notes? That’s because the note actually sounds more rounded to her when she does that.

I’m currently having a Running Man marathon and I recently watched the ep where Mamamoo sang Tears and don’t get me wrong, I love Mamamoo and I know they’re great when in comes to their vocals skills but I could see that they were struggling to sing this song.
