Apistogramma Erythrura | Care Guide

I absolutely love my Erythrura "Harry". I find him to not be reclusive at all and he's in a 10 gallon with 4 salt and pepper corydoras and one pencilfish (sadly the others died). I will be getting a female in a couple of weeks as it's taken over 3 months to find some. He's so personable, always coming up to the glass when I'm watching and that's much later in the day after feeding. Awesome, beautiful little fish!

I have a pair with cardinals and some panda corys. They breed readily with pH

Thanks! I mainly feed tetra tropical granules, and bug bites.

Hey, I'm thinking of a mixed Apisto community in a 55 or 120 gallon. I noticed you're keeping A. agassizii in there too. Are you afraid of them killing each other if any of them decides to try and breed? If I go with the bigger tank I also want to throw in A. macmasteri into the mix, but I'm afraid it'll be too large for the erythruras to compete with. I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks!

I think they would be fine together in a 55 gallon as long as there are plenty of hiding spaces and dither fish. I find that when they are breeding they just defend a territory, not really kill other fish.

Can you keep Apistograma with Blue Ram in a 10g tank I have a 10g tank with 1 Ram and I like to find a fish to keep with my Ram can you help me with this

I don’t think it would be a good idea to keep Apistogrammas and rams together in a 10 gallon. The smallest tank I would try that in is a 20 gallon. Maybe you can try keeping some Ember tetras or cardinal tetras.
