at the time of conversion of int into char , we alrdy know one single character will take only one single element i.e. 12 stores like '1' , '2' but why not '12' in one box this would help us to compress more

What if the first 10 charaters are 'a' then we write it as a10 then what about 4 to 9 characters, will there not be holes here?
