I recently lost my girlfriend. We were together for 6 full years. I wanted to write this because I felt it was necessary. I needed to get it off my chest. Everything was great in the first year. We had that spark when you meet someone new. Unfortunately, she had got out of a long term relationship from high school and had history with him. She cheated on me the first year. I forgave her because I really wanted to be with her, but to be honest. Ever since then, it went downhill. We had good times but mostly bad because it was in the back of my head for a long time until I got over it. It took me 2-3 years to get over that feeling of not being wanted or loved. I wanted to be perfect for her. Then 3 years into the relationship, we fought more and more and said things we didn’t mean and regret. She found someone else for like 1-2 months. So it sucked, that she basically cheated again because we weren’t done. When I found out she was with someone else. I saw her phone, pictures of her naked that were sent. Messages. It hurt like hell, and I didn’t know what I was doing wrong. Again, like an idiot. I forgave her and we started dating again. Then now that we made 6 years. She started feeling not happy anymore, all we did was fight. Quarantine didn’t make it any better. We rarely saw each other. I knew we were at the verge of a cliff. And it sucks. Because I caught her yet again 1 week ago. With her first ex from high school in the car. She looked dead at me. I knew in that moment. Everything was over and done with. She had moved on. The crazy thing about it, was I had just bought her a vase with roses that night and I was going to tell her that she was the one and that I was sorry for not trying anymore. That we could maybe start over. But after seeing something like that, it just kind of kills you. It breaks you in ways that I can’t describe. I’m sorry for writing this. But cigarettes after sex has saved me. From pain and from loneliness because their music helps me calm down and makes me happy. The thing about this band, is we had great memories where we would listen to CAS and it would feel great. I hope to just focus on myself now and work hard to do what I want to do. I will keep you guys updated in 6 months-1 year to see how I am doing. Thank you for reading this.

This song feels like it gives me all my emotions at once. Sadness, happiness, nostalgia, scarcity, excitement, I just can’t describe it. It reminds me of everything that was and what could have been as well as what can and what will be. There’s almost a part of me that can’t let things go and listening to this songs brings them out in ways I can’t describe. I dealt with a lot mentally growing up, inflicted by myself and my environment. Now I’m in university, living on my own, and starting to find my way in this crazy life. But whenever I come back to a song like this it reminds me of everything I’ve ever wanted in my life. Things that I can’t seem to let go of yet block them out to block out the feelings. I’ve never been great with expressing and confronting difficult feelings yet this song makes me own up to myself about how I feel. Giving me a sense of peace within me. Allowing me to be fully transparent. It really is just beautiful what something as small as a song do to my heart and my head. I had a terrible love life, and a tragic divorce. But After 5 years I met a girl who ignited my passion to fall in love again. I thought I should give it a shot, and go with the flow, I thought maybe life has finally opened its arms for me to see and feel love the way it should be felt. I had many questions and doubts on my mind, but as I was single for a very long time and I was actually celibate for all these 5 years after my divorce so I thought I was overthinking and I decided to just jump in. I did, we had long conversations, the dates were simple and full of conversations filled with beautiful memories. She was younger than me, a lot younger 8 years. I was lost, though the age gap was a critical point that forced me not to proceed, but eventually I surrendered to my feelings and I just got into the vibe. One night we went for dinner, and she asked me if she could stay back at my place, I said yes, and we had a beautiful night, we had sex and during that time I played this song, as this was my favourite song and I had kept it separated from forming any memories as I didn't want to lose the charm of the song if anything went wrong with those memories, but guess what it happened the other way. In the following morning after we made love all night, she gets up and started to behave like I was a stranger, she pushed me away, and avoided any physical touch. I was shocked to experience this, then she said she has a boyfriend and she had some arguments with him and they were just not talking for awhile, I was like whaaaat! And she behaves in a way as if nothing happened. I immediately asked her to get out of my house, she was happy and called a taxi and left, and that too with a smile saying goodbye. Till today I am amazed by her behaviour, I went into a trauma, a shock as I was not able to process all this. It took 1 years, a whole damn year to get the effect of that incident fade away. Whenever I hear this song all those images keeps on flashing right in front of my eyes. It's been 3 years, today I can say I am free from that night. Finally, I can hear this song without a heavy heart. My feelings of nothingness came back. But, I fear to get into any relationship. I don't know what the future holds, but I am little hesitant to put my mental health at risk because people these days feel like they can sleep around just because they had an argument with their partner. lol what an idiot I was.

I just listened to this song for the first time and I burst out into tears. I can't say goodbye to my bestfriend who passed. I'm an antisocial person and a huge introvert. I was at a very emotionally unstable and depressive state when he came into my life. But when he did, I had a hard time taking care of him but I pushed through it since he meant the world to me. He was quite literally the reason I was able to laugh and smile. He was constantly getting sick and I had to take care of him while doing school. In a very short amount of time, he became the most important being to me. He was my best friend in every sense of the word. I miss you Kobe. I wish you could come back to me and I'd do anything for that to happen. I'll always love you, my sweet puppy.

I also lost my best friend of 23 years about 2 years ago. I'm having a hard time with it because the only person I want to talk about it with is her but, ofc I can't. She was diagnosed with cancer on March 10th and died 10 days later, on March 20th. Well, more correctly, her wife had to take her off life support. Even though it's been almost 2 years, I'm getting teary just writing this. My mother died when I was 17 and I had an easier time with it, mainly because my mom had cancer, as well, and had been suffering for a while. I know they're in a better place but it still sucks. Samhain is coming up and I'm planning on doing something for my best friend, again. It's all I can do now. I definitely understand your pain and I'm very sorry for your loss.

@@13lilsykos I can only imagine how it’d feel to lose not one but two people who are so dear to me. I’m very very sorry for your loss. As you’ve already mentioned, it is important to always remember they’re in a better place. Although saying that doesn’t provide the most comfort, it’s all we have to heal and try not to dwell on the past. If you ever need to rant, you can reach out to me and talk as much as you want about how you miss your best friend or your mom, I will always always listen. Even if it gets repetitive or you feel hopeless, I’ll listen and try to comfort you as best as I can because I understand how it feels to lose your best friend. It’s important to note though that you will meet and reunite with them one day (hopefully a long time from now so you can live a happy, healthy life). Hang in there and take your time healing ❤️, it’s not a linear process and cry if you need to.

I've edited this because I was really heartbroken when I originally wrote this comment. I was sad, anxious and I felt betrayed. I thought I'll never be able to recover from that breakup. But today, as I write this, I can proudly say that I'm not that depressed, self depreciating person anymore. I am very happy and content with my life. I feel as if I have shed my older skin and I've been reborn. I'm so in love myself and the handful people I'm close to. I'm living my best life. I've been there hun. And I know right now it feels like it will never go away. I ain't gonna lie, it can take a long time depending on how much in love you really were with the person. For a while every sad song is gonna make you think of them and even every happy song too and you'll find yourself crying a lot and just wanting to curl up and fucking die. You want answers to questions that should never have to be asked of the person you loved but in time, most of the hurt and tears will find a place inside you to be quiet and you'll find your groove and your smile will return again and if youre real lucky, you will fall in love again with someone more deserving of your time and energy. That pain will be there as a reminder of what not to do again and we learn from it. In the end, it shapes us in to better people and let's us know that we can survive some pretty horrific shit if we want to. Hang in there, you have a lot of life ahead of you. Live it to the fullest. My girlfriend broke up with me recently. This was one of her favorite songs, I cry every time I listen to it. I loved her more than anything in the world, she was the light of my day. @@spankeydawg7198 Just an advice: Don't allow yourself being friendzoned while you still want to date her. Eventually she will find someone new and your heart will break again. Give yourself time, a lot of time. Months, maybe even half a year or more. As you said, find other things you enjoy, focus on yourself. And when you are able to accept that you possibly never date her again, then you are ready to contact her and have a friendship. I wish you all the best :)
