@oliviafranzen29593 жыл бұрын
The video does make sense. One line of the lyrics is "you take a light from the candle" in Germany you are not supposed to light your cigarette on a candle because regarding an old legend every time you do that, a sailor dies. At the end she turns off the light of the lighthouse and the sailor gets lost at see ....... also when she sings in the higher voice this refers to the legend of sirens who basically sat on a rock in the sea or in a river and sang in a high tone hypnotizing the sailor and leading their ship onto the rock or cliff. So everything in this video is referring to sailor legends and is pictured pretty well. I'm sure there is a lot more, but these are the main things I noticed.

Actually not only in Germany, (don't know from where exactly are the orygins of this legend) basicly it was a common thing in the whole Europe when people used to smoke in Pubs and Bars. In Poland (and I think in most countries with the open access to the Baltic Sea) it was the same custom to never light a cigarette from candle.

@Xsezz Catharina "Nina" Hagen is a German singer, actress and songwriter. She is known as the German "Godmother of Punk", influenced the German New Wave and was a pioneer of the Neue Deutsche Welle. she is 65 years old and a trained opera singer. her voice spans four octaves. Take a look at her live videos from the late 70s to the mid 80s. musically certainly not to everyone's taste but definitely worth seeing.

As far as I understand it, everyone can cover everything, as long as you dont change the lyrics or the melody. That's why there are so many tribute bands out there. You need permission for samples, although claims because of sampling small bits and pieces got denied several times. For example the only time ABBA gave permission for a sample was for Madonna's Hung Up and they stated Austrian dance project Edelweiss used the chorus melody from S.O.S on their 1988 hit Bring me Edelweiss without permission (but apparently have not taken any actions about it).
